Elizabeth,
I am going out on a limb here. If I counted right you made 6 statements justifying your husband's actions in going to breweries. This has a hint of the "Illusory Truth Effect". This is when something is believed to be true only because it is often repeated. Like I said I am out on a limb here. Also, I am a person who has only tasted beer twice in my life time. I avoid establishments that serve intoxication drink when I can. I live in a county where it is illegal to sell it.

(2. Fig is type of male private part, My understanding of a fig is that there are male and female flowers are inside of the fruit. Can you provide more information regarding a fig being a type of male private part?

Luke 12:14 And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?
Man who made me a judge over your actions.

Faith from the Latin “fides” meaning to trust. My American Heritage Dictionary lists the following synonyms for faith(ful): loyal, true, constant, steadfast, staunch, resolute, devoted, and trustworthy. It offers two basic definitions:
1. A confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing. 2. Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence.
Unfortunately today when one hears the word "faith" they think of definition 2 instead of 1.

There seems to be an inherent danger in trying to understand false religions:
Deuteronomy 12:30 Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.

Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; Mark 2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
Since Jesus clearly states the "sabbath was made for man", it is not an ordinance against us, thus the Sabbath is still in full effect.
Here is the ordnance that is against us: Exodus 31:14 Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
It requires our death if we defile the Sabbath. Our death is what was nailed to the cross not the Sabbath or any other law of God/Jesus.

Hebrews 8:13 (KJV) In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
Doesn't this occur every time someone is saved. The old covenant, which was broken by the sinner - thus requiring the sinner's death - is decayed away, waxed old and vanished away. In its' place the new or renewed, as you like to say, covenant is placed upon the ex-sinner's heart. The ex-sinner now lives out God's law because it is in his heart. The law being written on the heart entails much more than brute memorization.

The following is most concise explaination of the new covenant: Jer. 31:31Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: 33But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
The only difference between the old and new is the location. The old is on tables of stone while the new in on your heart.

There is no question that the fig tree represents Israel. Most Christians use the death of the fig tree as a sedge way into replacement theology. I.e. the Jew is dead and now we have the Church. However, when the tree portion of a fig dies, the roots will send up shouts to start new trees. This is merely an acting out of the parable of the fig tree: Luke 13: 6He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. 7Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground? 8And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: 9And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.
The tree had been dunged, or taught by Jesus and was not bearing him fruit. So he cut it down so it would re-sprout.

Mark 11:13 for it was not the season for figs. Here is the key to understanding this passage. How ignorant is it to ride up to a fig tree to get something to eat when there is no possibility of getting anything. Well actually the ignorance lies with the reader. Fig trees bare two crops each year. The season for figs is the fall crop. However there is also a spring crop. The figs will begin to develop prior to the leaves coming on. The spring crop is the lesser of the two crops. Lesser in quality and quantity. The fact is the tree should have had figs on it.
Luke 16:10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
This tree was not faithful in the least crop nor would it have been faithful in greater crop.

Jacob seems to ask a blessing for himself:
Gen 32:26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
There may be an issue doing it for others:
Job 1:5 And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

2 Samuel 10:5 When they told it unto David, he sent to meet them, because the men were greatly ashamed: and the king said, Tarry at Jericho until your beards be grown, and then return.
Though we are not told, I suspect it didn't take years for the beards to get long enough.
2 Samuel 19:24 And Mephibosheth the son of Saul came down to meet the king, and had neither dressed his feet, nor trimmed his beard, nor washed his clothes, from the day the king departed until the day he came again in peace.
Don't think Mephibosheth had to go to long without trimming his beard. The rebellion was short lived.
2 Samuel 14:26 And when he polled his head, (for it was at every year's end that he polled it: because the hair was heavy on him, therefore he polled it:) he weighed the hair of his head at two hundred shekels after the king's weight.
There is speculation that Absalom's long hair is how his head become in-tangled in the tree branches.
Ezekiel 44:20 Neither shall they shave their heads, nor suffer their locks to grow long; they shall only poll their heads.

I apologize if the tone was too harsh, or if you thought I was accusing either of you of extreme pacifism. However you both in your own way have argued for the extreme stance, so yes I do see your arguments heading that direction. My intent was to encourage all of us not to go that direction. Dan C I am no pacifist. I do know however that there are times when war should not be conducted. I have already mentioned Zedekiah’s war was wrong. There is also the first battle of Ai, Saul’s defeat, Joab’s slaying of Abner, Rehoboam’s war with Shishak, Jehoshaphat’s war at Ramothgilead, Josiah’s (yes the one who was to go to his grave in peace) war with Pharaohnechoh and others. God’s people must earn the right to make war. Witness: Leviticus 26:14But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments; 15And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant: 16I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. 17And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you. 18And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins. 19And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass: 20And your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits. Leviticus 26:33And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste. 34Then shall the land enjoy her sabbaths, as long as it lieth desolate, and ye be in your enemies' land; even then shall the land rest, and enjoy her sabbaths. 35As long as it lieth desolate it shall rest; because it did not rest in your sabbaths, when ye dwelt upon it. 36And upon them that are left alive of you I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursueth. 37And they shall fall one upon another, as it were before a sword, when none pursueth: and ye shall have no power to stand before your enemies. 38And ye shall perish among the heathen, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up. 39And they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies' lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them. Deuteronomy 28:22The LORD shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish. 23And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron. 24The LORD shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed. 25The LORD shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth. 26And thy carcase shall be meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall fray them away. 27The LORD will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed. 28The LORD shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart: By the way, I may be old, but in the event of a justifiable war, I would fight like Caleb.

One way to remove the spot light from an individual and place it on God is to put the following to a tune and sing in replacement of the happy birthday song. Psalms 119:84 How many are the days of thy servant? Psalms 119:84 How many are the days of thy servant? Psalms 39:5 Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah. Psalms 90:12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Psalms 90:12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

[This strikes me as harsh and not really fairly characterizing what I said, or what I think I understood Jimmie saying. We said there's a time to fight and a time not to fight and the response, in my mind, depends on individual and situational circumstances. I agree.
