One way to remove the spot light from an individual and place it on God is to put the following to a tune and sing in replacement of the happy birthday song. Psalms 119:84 How many are the days of thy servant? Psalms 119:84 How many are the days of thy servant? Psalms 39:5 Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah. Psalms 90:12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Psalms 90:12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

Sure looks as though Jeremiah is telling Zedekiah to submit to Babylon. Of course at this time Babylon is closer to God than Israel is.
Jer 38:17Then said Jeremiah unto Zedekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; If thou wilt assuredly go forth unto the king of Babylon's princes, then thy soul shall live, and this city shall not be burned with fire; and thou shalt live, and thine house: 18But if thou wilt not go forth to the king of Babylon's princes, then shall this city be given into the hand of the Chaldeans, and they shall burn it with fire, and thou shalt not escape out of their hand. 19And Zedekiah the king said unto Jeremiah, I am afraid of the Jews that are fallen to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they mock me. 20But Jeremiah said, They shall not deliver thee. Obey, I beseech thee, the voice of the LORD, which I speak unto thee: so it shall be well unto thee, and thy soul shall live. 21But if thou refuse to go forth, this is the word that the LORD hath shewed me:
I agree we can be called to war, but we can be called to surrender. If we refuse to fight when called to do so or insist on fighting when we should not, destruction will follow.
I don't disagree with what you have said about salt and how it was used. However there is a very easy way for salt to loose its' savour. When salt is mined from the salt flats of the dead sea is has a high percentage of clay in it. Expose the salt to water and the salt will dissolve and leave behind the clay. The clay looks like salt but will not taste like it. You just throw the clay into the street to tread under foot.

This week’s readings: Mark 7:19 (KJV) Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats? Dan C Words don't always have the meaning that we are use to. Take the word "meat" in the above text and compare it to what the below text call meat. Genesis 1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. Leviticus 2:1 And when any will offer a meat offering unto the LORD, his offering shall be of fine flour; and he shall pour oil upon it, and put frankincense thereon: . Leviticus 2:5 And if thy oblation be a meat offering baken in a pan, it shall be of fine flour unleavened, mingled with oil. Since the text in Mark states they were eating bread with unwashed hands the meat in Mark 7:19 is not referring to the flesh of an animal and can not be construed to mean that the flesh of unclean animals can be consumed.

Matthew 12:5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless? Revelation 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. Something to think on. Very true. But the principle here is that the Cohanim, and later the Rabbonim had to work on Shabbat to perform their duties to Elohim. This didn't mean they could do their laundry or build a birdhouse. Just that they performed their duties as instructed by God. However from this we can extrapolate the principle that there are some acceptable reasons for breaking Shabbat. That what you were getting at? Dan C Alon, the principle that I see here is based on “have ye not read in the law”. If you can find your proposed action written in the law, it is lawful to perform. This answer was given in response to the Pharisee’s claim that Jesus’ disciples’ were breaking the Sabbath by plucking ears of corn to eat. There is a place in the law where we can read this is an acceptable action: Deuteronomy 23:25 When thou comest into the standing corn of thy neighbour, then thou mayest pluck the ears with thine hand; but thou shalt not move a sickle unto thy neighbour's standing corn. The actions of the disciples were perfectly lawful. I have heard many sermons on how they were breaking the law but never one on how they were fulfilling the law. That may be because the church is always finding ways to do away with God’s laws. There is one other principle that I use to govern my actions on the Sabbath. Romans 4:15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression. Romans 5:13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Galatians 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. If my action is not prohibited by God’s law then I can not be in transgression of God’s law.

"a religion that preaches belief in Jesus as Deity or as Messiah, such as the one known on the Internet as "Messianic Judaism," is not Judaism." If I listen to how the church teaches Jesus is Deity and/or Messiah, I believe this to be a true statement. The church teaches the concept of the holy trinity. The father, son and holy ghost are three separate coequal beings in the triune god head. This breaks the following scriptures: Isaiah 42:8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. Deut 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: If however Jesus and the LORD are the same as taught in the new testament those scriptures remain intact and the statement becomes false. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. The Messiah that the church teaches came to do away with the law and make changes which is what the anti-christ does. Daniel 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. However the Bible teaches that Jesus actually came to establish and fulfill the Law. This again makes the statement false. Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. If all I knew was the Old Testament, and a church member presented christ to me as the church does, I would reject him as anti-christ. If Jesus Christ was presented to me as the New Testament shows him, I would accept him as my Messiah.

My 2 cent on birthdays:
Psalms 119:84 How many are the days of thy servant? Psalms 39:4 LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am. Psalms 39:5 Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity.
We sing this instead of the standard birthday song. There are no candles to wish over. We only make partitions unto the LORD. There is no gift giving.
Both times Birthdays are mentioned in the Bible someone losses their head.

Women are twice as likely as men to have bouts of depression. Yet men and women score about the same on the PHQ8 test. The test used to determine depression. I think the underlying difference is women more often feel that they cannot do anything about the 8 indicators on the test. And often that is the result of conditioning from church and society in general. The church teaches that men are to be the “bread winners”. But it hardly ever teaches Proverbs 31 showing that women can earn with her hands as well as purchase land etc. Women and men need to know the truth and not accept what they are told by the church or society in general. There are many things that can contribute to depression: Genetics: Were your mother or father depressed. Confess the sins of our fathers. Abuse: Where you abused? Let everyone bear the cost of their own sins. The abuser is the sinner. Do not be punished for their sins. Diet: Are you eating healthy? And remember one man’s bread may be another man’s poison. Be aware of how foods affect your mood. Exercise: Make sure you get enough exercise. Sunlight: Get plenty of indirect sunshine into your eyes. Especially in winter months. Medications: Be aware of side effects of any medications that you may use. I am sure there are others as well. You will be in my prayers as you work through this. God bless and keep you.

my 2 cents.
I believe you are referring to Matt. 5: 38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: 39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. As you read Matt 5, there are two things you need to keep in mind. One is who Jesus is. Jesus is God in the flesh. So the person who said “an eye for an eye” is the same person who said “turn the check.” They are both immutable laws. The second thing is that God’s law will not pass as long as heaven and earth exists. See verse 18. God’s laws are to be fulfilled by us as we follow Jesus (God in the Flesh) who showed us how to fulfill every jot and tittle of his law. Now if you have broken the turn the check law you have broken the law. And if you misapply the eye for eye law you have broken it. So what does an eye for an eye mean? If someone pokes my eye out. Do I get to poke theirs out. 23And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life, 24Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe. 26And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free for his eye's sake. 27And if he smite out his manservant's tooth, or his maidservant's tooth; he shall let him go free for his tooth's sake. So the person who made the eye or tooth perish had to give the servant his remaining eye as compensation. The eye for eye law is a type of restoration not vengeance. If you think turning the check is a new idea put forth only in the New Testament read Lam 3:30 He giveth his cheek to him that smiteth him: he is filled full with reproach.
Matt 5: 27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. It is easy enough to find thou shalt not commit adultery in the law but what about the prohibition of lust? It is in the 10 commandments also. Deuteronomy 5:21 Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbour's wife, neither shalt thou covet thy neighbour's house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is thy neighbour's. In closing Matt 5 is calling attention the lesser known commandments that we are to keep. Christ is in no way adding to the Law. He is merely laying it all out to be observed. Matt 5: 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Luke 16:8 And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.
I have a nephew that has autism. He drives everyone around him crazy. That included me until I studied about it in secular writing. Now I can handle him. I don't live near him and can't spend much time with him. When I walk into the room where he is his demeanor changes, because he knows shortly I will have him out of trouble with his Grandma and aunt's that he lives with. I pray someone will be at the Messianic Synagogue to help you.
By the way Gideon put out two fleeces.

You tithe on the increase: Deuteronomy 14:22 Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year. Deuteronomy 14:28 At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates: Deuteronomy 26:12 When thou hast made an end of tithing all the tithes of thine increase the third year, which is the year of tithing, and hast given it unto the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat within thy gates, and be filled;
The tithe equals one tenth Genesis 28:22 And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God's house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee. Numbers 18:21 And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation. Leviticus 27:32 And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD. Numbers 18:26 Thus speak unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then ye shall offer up an heave offering of it for the LORD, even a tenth part of the tithe. Hebrews 7:2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;
What you do with the tithe Deuteronomy 12:17 Thou mayest not eat within thy gates the tithe of thy corn, or of thy wine, or of thy oil, or the firstlings of thy herds or of thy flock, nor any of thy vows which thou vowest, nor thy freewill offerings, or heave offering of thine hand: Deuteronomy 26:12 When thou hast made an end of tithing all the tithes of thine increase the third year, which is the year of tithing, and hast given it unto the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat within thy gates, and be filled; Numbers 18:21 And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation. Malachi 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

I see no where indicating what you said It is because of these many scriptures shown here that has me believing about the Father and Son differences and references that Jesus is the right hand of God: biblehub.com/matthew/3-17.htmbut I do see the logic behind the concept that Jesus is God. Trinitarianism is a compromise between one God and many gods in which the Father = God, the Son = God and the Holy Ghost = God. However the Father does not = the Son does not = the Holy Ghost does not = the Father. I hope that makes since. To supplement what alon and Elizibeth have said about The Father and the Son being one and the same and help kepha understand why we believe this, please consider this: The people of Israel rejected God the Father as being their king and desired a fleshly king like the nations had. To correct that, the Father manifests himself in the flesh as the Son to reestablish his kingship over Israel. Israel has their fleshly king and God is that King. When God shows up in the burning bush or as fire by night and a cloud by day or as a hand we do not deify each of these as a separate god. They are each and every one a manifestation of God Himself. Read more: theloveofgod.proboards.com/user/443/recent?q=right+hand#ixzz5YfPHAR3uTring to put God into terms that man can understand is a tricky business. So here is my atempt: First let’s look at three passages from Palams: Ps 20:6 Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand. Ps 44: 2 How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them; how thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out. 3 For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them. Ps 118:14 The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation. 15 The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly. 16 The right hand of the LORD is exalted: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly. Salvation is in the right hand of the LORD. If you trace the meaning of Jesus back to the Hebrew, you will find that it means Salvation. This is why we find Jesus on the right hand of the father: Matthew 26:64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Mark 14:62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Mark 16:19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. Acts 2:25 For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved: Acts 2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. Acts 2:34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, Acts 5:31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. Acts 7:55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, Acts 7:56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. Romans 8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Ephesians 1:20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Colossians 3:1 | | If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Hebrews 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Hebrews 1:13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? Hebrews 8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; Hebrews 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the , and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. The right hand of the Father is where our Salvation comes from: Matthew 25:33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Matthew 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 1 Peter 3:22 (Jesus) Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him. Luke 23:33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. (one is saved and one is not. Though it is not called out that the one on the right was the one saved) “Eli” translated as “My God” can also mean “My Power”. From the human perspective Jesus’ power had forsaken him. But, from God’s perspective, He lay his right hand down and he picked it back up in three days. maranguape,
Genesis 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
It is clear from the earliest parts of the Bible/TNK that God intended for man to live for ever. Due to man's sin God intervened to prevent him from doing so. Now if God can take a handful of dirt and make it live to begin life. He can take that same handful of dirt and make it live again after it has died the death that He has decreed as punishment for man's sin.

[]jimmie, how do you see the term Elohim, the first term used of God; and by God Himself, no less? In Hebrew, which has no capital letters, elohim can mean any person in authority. We capitalize it both to show respect and to show we are talking about the Almighty. So I see it as a title; but you often have a different perspective. אִישׁ ʼîysh, eesh; contracted for H582 (or perhaps rather from an unused root meaning to be extant); a man as an individual or a male person; often used as an adjunct to a more definite term (and in such cases frequently not expressed in translation):—also, another, any (man), a certain, champion, consent, each, every (one), fellow, (foot-, husband-) man, (good-, great, mighty) man, he, high (degree), him (that is), husband, man(-kind), none, one, people, person, steward, what (man) soever, whoso(-ever), worthy
בעלי Baali Baʻălîy, bah-al-ee'; from H1167 with pronoun suffix; my master; Baali, a symbolical name for Jehovah.
In the context of Hoseah 2:16 the terms would mean husband and master, respectively. These too I would see as titles. How would you see them? Most of the "names" we see in scripture are really descriptions of God's character, which was a common way to give names in ancient Hebrew. So I can see not calling these titles. Dan C alon, I see Elohim/God/Powers the same as I see YHVH/LORD/(the one who exists), as a shem/name/description of the person being spoken of. Most names in most cultures are really descriptions of a person character. The vestige of this practice can still be seen in many English names: Patronymic names: Johnson, Allison, Richardson, Rogers, Wilson, Benson, Evans, Roberts, Adams Occupation names: Taylor, Smith, Tyler, Wright, Chapman, Baker, Barker, Fiddler, Daymon(dairyman), Fisher, Cook, Bell, Bridgestone (actually translated from Japanese) Place names: Bush, Atwoods, Woods, Ford, Oxford, Kent, Devon, Hill, Sykes(marshy stream) Descriptive names: Little, White, Gray, Black, Armstrong, Goodchild, Puttock(greedy or wise), Young Look at some Native American Names Sacajawea-Bird Woman Pocahontas-Playful one Sitting Bull Red Cloud Geronimo-one who yawns We should not apply the way names are currently handle in English culture to the bible names with a different culture. The ability to correctly pronounce YHVH, is infinitely small in comparison to knowing His Name/Character. Prov 22:1A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold. Abba's Name/Character is the best Name/Character.

Next week’s reading schedule: Colossians 2:13-15 (CJB) You were dead because of your sins, that is, because of your “foreskin,” your old nature. But God made you alive along with the Messiah by forgiving you all your sins. He wiped away the bill of charges against us. Because of the regulations, it stood as a testimony against us; but he removed it by nailing it to the execution-stake. Stripping the rulers and authorities of their power, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by means of the stake.
The term being translated “it” here is “autos.” According to Strong’s this can be interpreted in either the singular or the plural. Now the first “it” does seem to be referring to a list of charges, so the singular would be correct. However the subject of the passage does not change, so if it is the list of charges being spoken of that second and third “it” should in fact be “them!” They, plural, meaning the charges are what is on the list, singular. Furthermore, the word translated “them” in the next sentence is the same, “autos.” This to me indicates intentional deceit, if not by Dr. Stern then by the earlier translators he relied on and apparently agreed with. Stern however, seemingly influenced by Christian theology, renders the term “it” all three times, insinuating “it” is the which was nailed to the execution stake. HaSem’s instructions are nullified so that we won’t sin any more. Makes about as much sense as Yeshua giving the “Law” so He could come and suffer in order to remove the Law; which is what is being said here. author: Daniel Alon Caan Sources: JPS Study TNK, Rabbi Stanley, my father and others Notes: (1) Malach HaBrit- Messenger of the Covenant (Malachi 3:1) (2) “-“ within a name of G-d should be read as an “o” Col 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. What is the “it” taken out of the way and nailed to the Jesus’ cross? It is the “handwriting of ordinances” which are blotted out. Many conclude that the “handwriting of ordinances” is referring to God’s Laws. This is a result of a lack of knowledge. Let’s see if we can track down what the “handwriting of ordinances” is. First, consider that the “handwriting of ordinances” were nailed to the cross, which according to Matt 27:32, Mark 15:2 and John 19:17 stood on Galgatha or the place of the skull. According to Deut. 12, When Israel came into the land they were to place the curse upon Mount Ebal, which means bald. As in the bald of the head or skull. Deut 27:15-26 contains the curses that were to be announced upon Mount Ebal. The last one is: Cursed be he that confirmeth not all the words of this law to do them: and all the people shall say, Amen. So the “handwriting of ordinances” were the curses. Second, consider that the “handwriting of ordinances” have to be against us and are a result of our trespasses against God. Mark 9:40 For he that is not against us is on our part. The same is true of ordinances, if they are not against us they are for us and thus not nailed to the cross. Are there any ordinances that are for us. According to Deut. 12, When Israel came into the land they were to place the blessing upon Mount Gerizim, which means “cut up” bring to mind a covenant which is “cut up”. So absolutely nothing that brings a blessing was nailed to the cross. And what brings the blessing or the curse: Deut 11: 26 Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; 27 A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day: 28 And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.

I have difficulty giving as you describe. We are instructed to leave a portion of our fields for gleaning by the poor. If we give a homeless person a granola bar, that they did not have to work for, are we not reinforcing the idea that the homeless person does not have to work. Are we giving a meal against the instruction of he who does not work does not eat, 2 Thess. 3:10? Deut. 15 instructs us to open our hands wide unto the poor. But this giving is in the form of a loan. I.e. the poor person is obliged to pay you back until the year of release comes around. You may not be fully repaid but the important thing is the poor person has skin in the game.
