Works or lack of works (sin) is how one is condemned. Grace and faith are how you get out of the condemnation. You can’t do any works to remove the condemnation. For example if you murder Bob, not murdering Joe will never remove the condemnation of murdering Bod. That can only be accomplished through faith and grace.

Myrtle has a star-like flower with five petals and sepals, and numerous stamens which appear as rays of light radiating from the flower/star. The flower is usually white.

Verses 12- 17 is what cought my eye: And when Gallio was the deputy of Achaia, the Jews made insurrection with one accord against Paul, and brought him to the judgment seat, Saying, This fellow persuadeth men to worship God contrary to the law. And when Paul was now about to open his mouth, Gallio said unto the Jews, If it were a matter of wrong or wicked lewdness, O ye Jews, reason would that I should bear with you: But if it be a question of words and names, and of your law, look ye to it; for I will be no judge of such matters. And he drave them from the judgment seat. Then all the Greeks took Sosthenes, the chief ruler of the synagogue, and beat him before the judgment seat. And Gallio cared for none of those things.
Paul was about to show that he did not teach men to worship God contrary to law; but the judge would not allow the Jews to complain to him of what was not within his office. It was right of Gallio to leave the Jews to themselves in matters relating to their religion, but yet would let them, under pretence of that, commit an act of lewdness in beating Sosthenes. Gallio spoke as if he boasted of his ignorance of the Scriptures, as if the law of God was beneath his notice. Gallio cared for none of these things. If he cared not for the affronts of bad men, it was commendable; but he concerned not himself for the abuses done to good men, his indifference was carried too far. And those who see and hear of the sufferings of God's people, and have no feeling for them, or care for them, who do not pity and pray for them, are of the same spirit as Gallio, who cared for none of these things. How many Gallio’s do you know who care not for God’s laws?

Leviticus 3:4 And the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away.
We butchered a cow last first day. We didn't keep any organ meat or fat. It appears that the lever without the caul can be used. But I can't stand the taste of liver. The kidneys are not use according to scripture.
Look for the Kosher symbol on prepared meats to avoid the pork casing.

The Septuagint is a watershed in Jewish history. More than any other event in Jewish history, this translation would make the Hebrew religion into a world religion. It would otherwise have faded from memory like the infinity of Semitic religions that have been lost to us. This Greek version made the Hebrew scriptures available to the Mediterranean world and to early Christians who were otherwise fain to regard Christianity as a religion unrelated to Judaism. Even with a Greek translation, the Hebrew scriptures came within a hair's breadth of being tossed out of the Christian canon. From this Greek translation, the Hebrew view of God, of history, of law, and of the human condition, in all its magnificence would spread around the world. The dispersion, or Diaspora, of the Jews would involve ideas as well as people.
The above is a quote taken from the Jewis Virtual Library.

In my opinion it is better to be hot or cold rather than luke warm. Though your family has celebrated Christmas for a "long time". Have you considered most of the traditions of chritmas are less than 100 years old. Or that at one time it was illegal to celebrate christmas in England and her colonies. The Pilgrims and Puritians both rejected it. If you take up Hanukkah, don't do it as a compromise for christmas. Do it as a rejection of christmas.

Is not found in Isaiah 61:1.
Might that have let to the question "Is not this Joseph's son?"?

If we lost the day in which to honor God, he would remind us as he did with the manna in the wilderness. Israel had no idea when the Sabbath was so God reset the clock, so to speak. No change in the calendar, that I am aware of, has deleted or added days of the weak. For example, in the case of the few countries that adopted the reformed calendar on the date proposed by Gregory XIII for the calendar's adoption, Friday, 15 October 1582, the preceding date was Thursday, 4 October 1582 (Julian calendar).

I don't see a difference between sins being covered and sins being blotted out. When you are writing and you blot some of the writing out, you cover the writing with ink.

I think you may be confusing someone who dies for another's sin with someone who dies because of another's sin.
