Yep I know what you're talking about. If you read my testimony you'll see that I lied and told people that I was Cathlolic especially at the place I work.
The group I work with is big. I work at the University of PA for the facilities department and the department is union and has 600 members.
Honestly there are only two Jews in the whole department. Another guy and myself. The other guy Carl is his name never hid the fact that he was Jewish.
When I came to Christianity if you will I had a way of think. Before the Lord led me into searching the scriptures for Truth, I went to Carl and said in a way "You and I are the only Jews here". He said he always thought he was the only one.
Now before I was getting the understanding like I'm getting know, in conversation I told him I believed in Jesus. His response was "You're a Jew, we're not suppose to believe in Jesus". My Christian attitude was a huge stumbling block in going further with him.
And I now know why. Christianity is taught to believe that the Law is no more. That all that OT "stuff" is not necessary. In other words Christianity teaches that all that stuff is undone therefore undoing what God has done.
Sadly that's the message and now I can see that is one of issues with Jews today, the observant "zealous" Jews. And you know what? They're correct!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man when I realized this this was a huge "revelation".
That in Acts the Jews were worshipping God in Spirit and in Truth, that Yeshua had something to do with it. They were zealous.
Now in my study on Hebrews, it has been taking me into Acts. Finding out that Acts can sort of be split into up to Chapter 10 and after Chapter 10 with the inclusion of the Gentiles.
More is being revealed to me each day and now I can testify that I'm proud to be a Jew!
Now in regards to my co-worker Carl, one day if the time is right I'd like to talk to him and share with him what I've been learning so far. As at first a while back I told him that I was a Christian but now on the path of "returning" to where I'm suppose to go, the . That it is because of Yeshua our Messiah that I'm listening too. The Word() in the flesh.
Have to be honest still having battles within about this. Now I know the truth.
All my life although a Jew lived not like a Jew but lived like the world.
The says that Israel would be perculiar, not like the world.
Marc
I believe we should look at ourselves and say, "This is the way HaShem made me, bless His Name, and I will honor Him by serving Him as He made me to be -- Jewish or Goy."
Certainly, all who believe and trust in Messiah are of Israel, but being of Israel does not make us all Jews. If someone is adopted into a family, that adoption does not change their national origin, their skin color, or their physical attributes: they remain what they were originally, except that they have the full rights, privileges, and responsibilities as natural-born children.
Regarding responsibility, right now in most places, it is relatively easy to be a Jew. While there certainly is both prejudice and persecution, it is held somewhat at bay in most places. I have often wondered, for all those who are striving and converting to "become" Jews just how Jewish they will be when the persecution comes nearer their doorstep. Will the kippot and tzitzit disappear? Will there just be little nail holes where mazzuzot had been? How many do you think will still be in your shuls? Who will suddenly decide that Shabbat is not that important? Where the proverbial "rubber meets the road," who will be left standing?

I certainly don't intend this to put anyone down, but I don't understand the great desire among many Messianics to be considered "Jewish." Certainly, I understand that "Jewish" can mean either Hebrew or one practicing Judaism, but so many goy want so desperately for people to recognize them as "Jews"! Why? Why can we not be satisfied with the way HaShem made us? Certainly, He was satisfied, or He would have changed His mind and put us back. I believe we should look at ourselves and say, "This is the way HaShem made me, bless His Name, and I will honor Him by serving Him as He made me to be -- Jewish or Goy."
