B"H Shalom, My name is Ariel Chaim. I am an Orthodox Jew who trusts win Yeshua...though I remain "hidden" for the time being. My question is what in the world is this concept of "trinity" I see nothing within that would have me conclude this as nothing more than a christian belief? Any thoughts, Web sites lessons or other info would be kind. Thank you Be Well Ariel

Yes, it is a belief that some here consider valid, and some (like myself) consider invalid. The idea is that God exists as one being, but three persons. I believe this is based on ancient pagan trinities, like those of Wi*ca and the Egyptian sun-god cult. The three persons are supposed to be "God the Father" "God the Son" or Yeshua, and "God the Holy Spirit." There is really no mention of the trinity in Scripture, and not even in the early Chri*tian writings until the 4th century and the Council of Nicea.
Shalom, Nachshon

b"h Shalom Ariel, I also identify as Orthodox as I find that my beliefs about the Moshiach and Judaism are 100% consistent with Orthodox Judaism. I also have rejected the Chri*tian notion of the trinity as I do not believe it to be consistent with the Tanakh. There have been many debates on here about many different thoughts and concepts, the trinity being one of them. You'll find a lot under these threads: Messianic Eschatology & Theology, Yesha, Practical Observance, and this thread, General Discussion. Chag Sameach, Natanel

Greetings Ariel,
I have come from a traditional (but strict) Christian background, at which time we believed in the trinity. I, along with the rest of my family, have sinced dismissed the notion of the trinity as a Pagan influence upon the truth. In fact, I personally have dismissed much of 'Christianity', as a pagan influence upon Gods truth.
The said topic finds its strongest origin from a certain verse found within the Brit Hadasha, in the epistle of Yochanan, the 5th Chapter verse 7-8. The catch being, Verse 7 is NOT found within the original texts. It was added in by certain translators.
It all gets very messy, but rest asured, if it doesn't line up with the Tenakh, it's most probably a 'Christian' influence.
May HaShem be with you.
kind regards,
MJ

This is a hard concept....the unity of G-d....Who can understand G-d??? I will say that I also reject the traditional concept of "trinity" as G-d is One! When my kids ask me to explain this, I ask them "Do you have a body a soul and a spirit?... Are you a trinity or you one person??" Now don't imagine that I think G-d is so easily conceptualized, but it helps put it in terms we can grasp.

Shalom Arialchaim, HaSatan is a counterfeiter and tries to mimick (but with perversion) what Adonai is and does. Indeed, HaSatan wants to be like El Elyon! Therefore, it should be no surprise to find similar ideas in paganism. It does not mean the origin of a triune Being is pagan...indeed if this was true, we would be pagan beings (having a triune nature)! Myself and the moderators of the forum along with many others here do believe that Adonai has a triune nature, much like ourselves (body, soul, spirit). After all, B'resheet tells us that we were made in His image. Therefore, it is no wonder that like us, He is a Being with a triune nature. I don't think anyone here believes or claims that we serve three separate equal Elohim such as described in many Christian circles. We serve one compound Being that created us in His image.
