Just wondering about the , and where I can go to read it? Also, what exactly is the ? I've heard that it's the first 5 books of the Old Testament, but honestly I don't know. (Gosh, it's embarrassing to give away ignorance on the subject!) I'm so anxious to read that I can hardly stand it! Thanks in advance. Stacey~

The whole of the Hebrew Scriptures is known as the Tenakh. This is made up of the , the Neviim (Prophets), and the Ketuvim (Writings). There are several on-line sources for study. You can even look at the weekly portion on this forum, as Reuel posts a weekly commentary. Welcome to the forums and Shabbat Shalom, Yitzchak

It is the JPS Version, which is not one of my favorites, but it is better than your KJV. www.sacred-texts.com/jud/index.htmI am sure some of the others might be able to direct you to a better English translation. Getting ready for the Shabbat, so will not be on for much longer. Shalom U'vrechot (Peace and Blessings) Yitzchak

Just an editorial of glossery terms: Tanakh is all of your Old Testament Scriptures Genesis - Malachai , as you already know, is Genesis - Deuteronomy. HaTorah (or HavTorah as some say) is the remainder of the Old Testament: Joshua - Malachai. The New Testament Scriptures are commonly referred to as the brit Hadashah (variant spellings are widely used).
