I grew up in a "holy-roller, hanging-from-the-banisters, non-denominational (a bit of a contradiction eh?), 501c3 incorporated organization." I accepted Yeshua into my life at the age of 15 during a teen camp.
I had always been taught never to question the leadership and just blindly obey their teaching. This led to problems as you might suspect, because unlike most of the youth there, I actually read the Word and studied it. However, when I approached the leadership on these Scriptural vs Teaching differences, they dismissed me and told me that I was in the wrong and quickly pointed out that they had a framed piece of paper up on the wall with their name and a signature at the bottom of it that said so. I eventually denounced that place and moved on.
I met my wife shortly afterwards and together we started our search for truth, using the Word of G-d. We eventually decided that a church that subjugated themselves to a secular government wasn't going to work for us and started a home-based fellowship. We've been on the road to learning more about the root that supports us ever since. I look forward to living not "...by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of Adonai...(D'varim 8:3)" with you all!

I'd like to encourage you in your ministry. Are there other like-believing families in your area?

Here and there, yes. We seem to have other like-minded individuals from our area that attend a synagogue in Bonners Ferry and Beth Shalom in Coeur d'Alene. I have yet to come in contact with these families however.

Ah yes, I am familiar with Beth Shalom. I probably know a few people whom attend, or have attended there... Of course, you are within distance of Spokane, Wa.... You could always visit us now and then... Shalom chaver, Reuel
