When my wife, and I were in the hospital when our little Ariel (our last baby) came into this world, the Lord set up a divine appointment. I had brought a book to the hospital called "The Seven Festivals of The Messiah" by Eddie Chumney. I have read books on this subject before, but I was hoping to gleam something new from the book. I walked out of the room that my wife and I where in (before she gave birth) to go get some coffee. As I was walking down the hall I heard a voice from behind me say, "Mazel Tov". This is Hebrew for "good luck". This is the traditional way of expressing congratulations. This is also the traditional way to congratulate someone for having a child.
I turned around and said, "Thank you". Why had this Jewish man said this to me?...Keep on reading. We later met at the coffee maker, and shared our love for . He asked what synagogue I attended, and this is when I had an opportunity to share Messiah with him...and he was open to it. I explained that I was part of a Messianic congregation, which he was quite interested in. He agreed that YHVH's was for all mankind, and this I believe opened a door to him in regards to Yeshua the Messiah. We had a great conversation, and then I went back to my room.
So, how does Eddie Chumney's book play into all of this? When I went back to my room I started to thank YHVH in prayer, and talked with my wife about what had just happened. Suddenly, YHVH reminded me about the book ("The Seven Festivals of The Messiah" ) that I had brought with me. It was a totally new book (not read yet). I have listened to Eddie Chumney before and trusted it's contents (I have also read another book by him). Anyways, I believe YHVH had moved me to find this Jewish man again, and give it to him. This book shows Yeshua (Jesus) in the feasts, and how they all point to Him, and the gospel. I prayed to YHVH that if this was His will, I would meet that Jewish man again in the hall. In faith, I grabbed the book (after writing a little encouragement to him in the inner page) and went into the hall and saw him standing outside his room (where his wife had just given birth). I went up to him, and communicated how great it was that YHVH had appointed this time for us to meet, and asked him if he would like the book, ""The Seven Festivals of The Messiah"". He looked at me, and said, "I would love to read it". I said good-bye with a satisfied feeling that I had been used of YHVH (YHVH).
How did all this start? Did this Jewish man say, "Mazel Tov" to everyone he saw in the hospital?? I don't think so. As I was first walking down the hall to get my cofee (as usual) my tzitzis/tzitziot were in view for him to see. I believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that I was able to share Messiah with this Jewish man because I kept my Heavenly Father's commandment found in Numbers 15:37-40....
"And YHVH spake unto Moses, saying,
Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue:
And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the YHVH, and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring:
That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your G'd.
Blessed are you O L'rd our G'd, King of the Universe who has commanded us to wear the tzitzi (fringe).
Shalom,
Zealot
