I'm new to the site, looking to educate myself on the scriptures and ask for help on an issue. I am a catholic and have always had an interest in understanding other faiths (not cults). But, my kids have joined (what I perceive to be) a cult. It's called World Mission Society Church of God (started in Korea). They worship the man who started this church as the second Messiah (deceased 1985), they also believe that his wife (?) - still living - is also a god, they call her mother jerusalem (she has never left Korea). They definitely can flip the pages of the bible and recite any verse (old or new testament). But when you try to challenge them with any writing in the bible, they claim you are using a parable....it gets very frustating, not to mention heartbreaking for me and my husband. My kids have stopped talking to us as we will not entertain thir preaching in our home, and have further punished us by not allowing us to see our grandson (whom I helped to deliver a year and a half ago). My kids have become almost militant, everyone else is wrong but them, especially if you worship on Sunday, wear a crucifix (asking if He were shot by a gun, would I wear a gun around my neck).....My kids got caught up in this so quickly (within weeks), it scares me......Sorry for the lengthy post....my apologies
