My introduction as suggested. What shall I say? I have been a devout Christian all my life. I was raised to keep all the ten commandments including the fourth. I was told nothing about the full truth of the . I was taught righteousness by faith but heard a lot more about works than faith. At the age of 38 I was driven from my church by criticism and judgement because I could not be good. I went to a Sunday-keeping church to continue my worship of God. I found out a lot about the love of God in that church but I never forgot about the law of God or His Sabbath. I was shocked at the age of 48 to learn about the annual Sabbaths and later the full truth of the statutes. I returned to my Sabbath-keeping church realizing now that I was a child of God and not a member of a church. I have since sought out the company of those who know and follow all the truth of God though they be very few. I have become disappointed with all churches but never disappointed with my God. I have studied many religions. I feel the greatest affinity with Judaism except for the rejection of the Messiah and the deep entanglements with tradition almost overriding the . Judaism seems as bad as Catholicism in that respect. All the Messianic Jews I met rejected the Sabbath at the same time they accepted the Messiah. How strange. No wonder the anti-missionaries are so adamant. I am now studying more deeply than ever before to grow in understanding. Welcome to HaAhava Elohim Discussion Forums!
Feel free to join in on any current discussions, or start your own. I look forward to your future posts. You said that the Messianic Jews that you know rejected the sabbath...where they just your common evangelical believer in Messiah? Or, did they actually attend a Messianic congregation?
Shalom v'ahava b'Yeshua HaMashiach,

These were Jews who joined an evangelical congregation. I have never heard of a Messianic Jewish congregation. I would be very interested in learning about something like that! If there was one nearby, I would go!

Many of us on the forums here attend such congregations. Where do you live? Perhaps I can help track one down for you. Shalom achi, Reuel

Shalom Frank... Let me introduce myself... My name is: Keith W Bush. Now Pa. is a large state... not as big as Texas or Alaska but who cares... I was raised in Reading, Pa. and for forty (40) of my 57 years lived and toiled there. but alas few even noticed... oh well back to the point of this missive... I can recommend at least three Messianic Synagogues in the Philadelphia area Let me state this for the record here and now... you haven't attended 'church' until you've been to and worshipped with Jewish believers in a Messianic Synagogue! If your near to Philly and your interested, e-mail me at kwbush@hotmail.com and I'll give you directions... Oh, by the way check out this scripture for me and let me know what you think: Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath [days]: You'll not get an arguement from me concerning the Fourth Commandment... (please take the time to visit my web site: www.angelfire.com/nj2/jciloa1)You'll be pleased to know all three synagogues keep the Sabbath... which as you and I know is: Saturday! Shalom

Frank,
If you do address Keith's question in regards to the scripture he provided. Please do so under the area set aside for Rav Sha'ul (Paul).
Shalom chaverim,
Reuel

I am intimately familiar with Colossians 2 which is a sadly misunderstood chapter. That verse in particular tells us to not be judged by those who are not following truth. Those who follow truth never judge :-) This verse does not by any stretch of imagination (except satan's or those led by satan) mean that the law doesn't matter or is changed or done away with.
As my profile says I live in Bethlehem. Just 45 minutes from Reading. Philly is too far to go for church. I am eager to learn more about Messianic Jews and Messianic churches.
I would assume they keep sabbath on saturday. :-) What other day would you keep? Only the antichrist would pretend anything different and we all know where he gets that from. :-) Though it is true that a lot of people listen to the antichrist. But we all know that nobody who studies the bible would be deceived by something like that. :-)
