Beloved Achot HaTorah: Shalom-shalom!
My name is Magdalena...username "Kallah" [Hebrew for "bride"]. I am originally from NYC, and living in Massachusetts. A Latina- NewYorRican (Boricua).I have rich ancestry. Taino-Afrik-Sefardi(Spanish Jew). Come from generational line of "conversos"(crypto-Sefardim). Eventhough I have Jewish ancestry (from both my parents) I was not raised (traditional)Jewish. I have been a believer all my life. I was raised in orthodox Evangelical-Pentecostal Christian faith. (However, a faith mindset that being a Christian, you were no longer Jewish.) One thing we did do; we always observed Shabbat. From the time I was 18, I began personal (secret) quest to learn more about my Jewish heritage. (A desire greater than myself, that I in earlier years did not comprehend.) However, it seemed imprinted in me not to just learn about my Jewish ancetsry, but to live what I learned(it was part my life); and my faith walk was never the same. As I studied and observed in secret for many years, what I came to learn answered many questions I had; and enlightenment in other areas made me uncomfortable to go along with things that had been erroneously taught. Faith in Yeshua (Christianity)receptive of Jewish life, I came to find out had a name (Messianic Judaism). So, after lifetime, my coming from a strict upbringing that had interwoven hidden (often inaccurately explained)Jewish observances; thereafter my departing from non-denominational congregation where I had fellowshipped for seven years, I was able to (finally) find a Messianic Jewish congregation. There, I was (am)able to finally feel where I always belonged, and express the fullness of my faith. In my life, I have come into awareness and completeness not only in being so in tune with my rich heritage. But, have also found completeness in my faith. It has been a trying and long spiritual journey. I regret nothing. I came by this site, and thought to try it out. I look forward to visit the different forums and place a post as often as I can. That we may share in D'var H-shem, prayer, thread discussions, faith walk experiences, and develop godly friendship ties, in HIS love. For now, the shalom ahavat Yeshua be continually with you all. --- b'ahavah Yeshua, Kallah
