Many people except Y'hoshua ben Yoseif for many different reasons. Some believe simply because they were taught too, some believe because of faith in the "New Testament" scripture.
I believe because, if Y'hoshua was not the the Mashiakh we have no hope for the Mashiakh at all.
Listen, the Scriptures are clear the Mashiakh must be born at Beth-Lekhem. Today, Bethlehem is an Arab town. The Israeli government handed it over to them and there has been no significant Jewish poplulation there for centuries because it became overrun with C*h*r*i*s*t*ians. Therefore, it is impossible for a scion of Dawid to be born in an Arab town.
Second, the Mashiakh MUST be born of a Scion of Dawid. The Romans slaughtered most of Bet Dawid and Herod destroyed all the genaeological documents to keep any survivors of making the claim. The only jewish documents we have from near this period linking anyone to Davidic lineage is that of Matityahu which contains a written record of an oral genaeology. So, if someone was claiming to be a Scion of Dawid they would abosolutely no proof and it would be IMPOSSIBLE because of 20 centuries of expulsions, scatterings, and slayings for an Jew to know if they are descendant of the great King.
These two facts alone are impossible to get around. If Y'hoshua was not the Mashiakh, we are doomed to have no Mashiakh which HaSheim would never allow to happen.

Even in in dark places a little light shines through the cracks. May you continue to be led by the Ruach. May HaShem bless your study. You have hit upon a great Idea for a topic of discussion; "Tanakh prophesies fulfilled by Yeshua". I have been deep in study on this due to an ongoing correspondence with a seeker of Messiah. This might be an excellent topic to not only strengthen our faith, but possibly bring readers who are not forum members to faith. (They are out there).
Luk 24:27 And beginning at Moshe and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

Never thought of it that way before, I always looked for Him in the past, never thought to look into the future, and you are correct.

I have read Blake's testimony over and over the past year or more. It's very difficult for me because there is more to the story. theloveofgod.proboards3.com/index.cgi?board=testimonials&action=display&thread=713How is it that one can be so declarative of Yeshua's validity as Messiah only to eventually turn his back so completely? I have my answers, those that make sense to me through my own experience; but it is worth our discussion. It is my hope that Blake wanders in from time to time and knows that he continues to be on our minds and in our prayers.
