By now most know Israel has been savagely and massively attacked by Hamas, with backing from Iran (which Iran confirmed). Most of the Western world leaders, including Joe Biden are condemning Hamas and saying they support Israel. However historically many, if not most will at some point soon do a reversal and condemn Israel, giving tacit if not outright support to Hamas. Already looking at the BBC you get the idea Israel attacked Hamas and Hamas has retaliated. And they are not the only ones.Point is, Israel will need our support sooner rather than later. But this brings up another unsavory topic- the charlatans who will take advantage of the situation to ask money in support of the Israeli people, but who will pocket most if not all the money. Please do give to Israeli relief. But make sure the money is going where you want. I do not respond to phone solicitations at all. And I give only to older, established organizations with a good track record. Also I always check out any organization to make sure the money goes where they say and not into exorbitant salaries ambiguous expenses. www.charitywatch.org/ has a decent article on how to check out relief organizations. Or if you have a longstanding relationship with an Israeli charity then you might want to stay with them. But don't be suckered in by any of the Johnny-come-lately orgs that will undoubtedly blossom with this latest assault on Israel and the Jewish people.
Prayers would not go amiss, either in helping you choose a charity or just prayers for Israel, the Jewish people, and especially those captured, their families and those of people already killed.

“Hear instruction and be wise, And do not disdain it. Blessed is the man who listens to me, Watching daily at my gates, Waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoever finds me finds life, And obtains favor from the Lord; But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul; All those who hate me love death.” Proverbs 8 I pray for Israel to overcome this evil and I know in time they will. I’m sorry for the families suffering and the ones being held. Beyond imagination what they’re going through. I also pray for the Palestinians because I can’t imagine being raised in a culture where this is what you are taught to celebrate. If there’s any who have remorse or empathy and a conscience, I hope they find the strength to somehow help the ones being held. They’re really not free either. Let them repent and act in accordance. They need miraculous spiritual intervention and strength from God Himself for even a chance of life and hope because they’re taught to love death. That’s how it looks to me anyway.

Dan My goodness. If ever there were a time for so many around the world to be cautious, alert and even go grey for their own safety.

Sad Yes, we should pray for the Palestinians, and Islam as a whole. I agree, and thanks for saying that. We (I) too often forget we are told to pray for our enemies; and Islam is a common enemy to Israel and the free world. But we should not allow our concern for them to translate into empathy for them. Those same Palestinians did what is typically the case with Islam. They celebrated in the streets. Then when Israel countered they wail and moan and now play the victim. But they are the aggressors, and so while I pray this will bring them closer to finding Yeshua, I also have to pray the world will continue to see it this way and continue to support Israel. Praying against their actions is different than praying against the people. As you point out, we (I) need to remember that in prayers. Thanks.

My goodness. If ever there were a time for so many around the world to be cautious, alert and even go grey for their own safety. Yes. There have already been incidents. I read a police officer even in Egypt killed a couple of Israeli tourists. I still wear my tzitzyot. Of course I live in a much safer place. If one is in a place where you might be attacked for it there is no shame in tucking them in.

Well Yeshua is wiser than what we feel like, so pray for your enemies comes around to sincerity if I don’t let my feelings overrun me. What other hope do they have? Either there has to be miraculous revelation, which I’ve heard from several places has happened in Iran, or God hears our prayers to intercede to preserve what’s good. If there’s no good; He knows. What chance is there for you if you’re handed insane hate and weapons the second you can carry them if believers don’t pray for you? Feels like I’ll be called out by God if I don’t just because what light do they have if we’re not? That’s how I look at it. I have compassion for them because of His Spirit and the fact I see people being born into what I don’t think I could personally overcome, but real compassion isn’t stupid. It’s serious. They have no clue how foolish and weak they really are because they’ve wronged their own soul. I’d rather take their life seriously than rejoice in their demise just because of the God who made them. Like what is your own life worth if this is what someone else’s life is worth to you? If you see with your own eyes how helpless and fragile life is, what then are you? And then you will face God in what state? Talk about helpless. They’re literally wronging their own soul and the whole time their proving life’s fragility, humanity’s desperation and foolish enough to think they’re strong and victorious. Like who then are you if not a human who can suffer and die? Don’t you see? They have to be insane , spiritually dead, and foolish. We don’t need to worry about the justice part. They’re judged. But defending life, that’s about all we can do. There’s no life for people who love death, so no worries. Real compassion fears God and so is wise.
