Looks like a good resource. Thanks. Just use discernment when reading there (or anywhere, for that matter). But this is Christian based. The things I looked at seem ok though. They just reference scripture, and it is up to us how we view or interpret it. I'll give an example from their list of prophecies fulfilled by Jesus:
Isaiah 7:10-17 ESV The Sign of Immanuel Again the Lord spoke to Ahaz: “Ask a sign of the Lord your [singular] God; let it be deep as Sheol or high as heaven.” But Ahaz said, “I will not ask, and I will not put the Lord to the test.” And he [Isaiah] said, “Hear then, O house of David! Is it too little for you to weary men, that you weary my God also? Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin [עַלְמָה ‛almâh] shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel [God is with us] He shall eat curds and honey when he knows how to refuse the evil and choose the good. For before the boy knows how to refuse the evil and choose the good, the land whose two kings you dread will be deserted. The Lord will bring upon you and upon your people and upon your father's house such days as have not come since the day that Ephraim departed from Judah—the king of Assyria!”
Judah was facing a conspiracy between Ephriam (the Northern Tribes) and Syria. But God, through the prophet was comforting Melech (king) Ahaz with this prophecy.
First look at the term עַלְמָה ‛almâh, which can mean either a young woman or a virgin. And remember that much prophecy was given for specific people of that time. Had it not been it may not have survived. But since the propheies were fulfilled in that time they were in a sense vetted as true. Also the Hebrew idea of time is not a line as we see it, or even a circle (like a clock). But a spiral along which events reoccur. In fact, to us we want to check prophecies off a list. To a Jew it is not so much the prophecy came true, but that it repeated.
When an עַלְמָה ‛almâh conceives it can be either by natural or supernatural means. In this case, a child was born of an עַלְמָה ‛almâh, and before he knew right from wrong the Assyrian Empire had defeated both Ephriam and Syria and carried most of them off into exile:
Isaiah 8:3-4,8 ESV And I went to the prophetess, and she conceived and bore a son. Then the Lord said to me, “Call his name Maher-shalal-hash-baz; for before the boy knows how to cry ‘My father’ or ‘My mother,’ the wealth of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria will be carried away before the king of Assyria.” ... and it will sweep on into Judah, it will overflow and pass on, reaching even to the neck, and its outspread wings will fill the breadth of your land, O Immanuel.”
Note too this child was not named עִמָּנוּאֵל ‛immânû'êl, and neither was Yeshua. It was a descriptive title. God was with the kingdom of Judah, and with the miraculous birth of a true virgin He was (and is) literally with us as Yeshua Ha'Moshiach, Jesus the Messiah.
So there is more to prophecy than meets the eye; and more than we were typically taught. Important to know as we may be challenged on this. A Jewish person may be very familiar with this fact, and an anti-missionary most certainly would. Even some anti-Jesus (be they Christian or Messianic) people study these things and will try to trip you up.
By the way, welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the welcome. Only my "self-made tracts" are my creation, everything else is up there to prove the bible, give general evidence or disprove certain things. There are books by others in my "books" section, but its like, the codex sintactus, and exo vaticana, but only so people can read it for themselves instead of just hearing about it. I also want to learn things to use in conversation with non-messiah jews, like my brother, and anti-missionaries (new to me). Looks like a good resource. Thanks. I also want to learn things to use in conversation with non-messiah jews, like my brother, and anti-missionaries (new to me). Anti-missionaries are tough. They know the Bible; in fact, many know the New Testament better than some pastors I've met! They also know the Old Testament frontwards and back. And most (if not all) are not opposed to lieing to you. But if you've looked hard at scripture (like this) where it tells you of the prophecy, when it was made, by who and to who it was originally told then you can counter them easily. However you also have to know the Jewish view of prophecy and of time. Our Greek trained minds like lists, but the Bible is a Jewish document, Genesis to Revelation. We must think like they do in order to understand. You might want to check out some older posts in the archives here:theloveofgod.proboards.com/thread/3386/hebrew-hermaneuticsI combined 2 threads because they were so similar after I became a moderator. But the first poster there did a great job; well worth the time to read. My part was before I was on staff, so it is old. But still good. theloveofgod.proboards.com/thread/3385/greek-hermaneutics Again, before I was on staff. Makes a good contrast.
You can revive threads simply by posting if you have questions or more info.
