Should we pray to them, should we ask them too for help with whatever, should we thank them for what they do for us? The quick answer is "No!"The term "angel" is translated from the Hebrew "Malach," meaning "messenger." The plural is malachim. This can be any messenger: human, spirit (good or bad), or God Himself, probably as Yeshua or the Ruach. And by "spirit" I mean the common idea of an angel, not ghosts. If you see a ghost, it is likely a 'bad' "angel," not a departed soul. That or a bad "trip" if you do drugs. Angels as we commonly think of them- heavenly spirits- are there to serve God and do His bidding: Psalm 103:20 Praise the LORD, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word. They will not allow anyone to worship them, as God alone should be afforded that honor. And since prayer is a form of worship praying to an angel would be counterproductive. We are warned about people who do this: Colossians 2:18 Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you. Such a person also goes into great detail about what they have seen; they are puffed up with idle notions by their unspiritual mind. Pray to God and He will direct His heavenly messengers concerning you. Their "thanks" and their reward is from God. They rejoice when we worship and pray to Him.
