Hi
I've always wondered why so few messianic non-Jews never seem to be aware of (let alone speak) Mizrahi or Sepharadi Hebrew?
I know most messianic Jews are Ashkenazi and most messianic songs from Israel use the dominant (except in parts of Jerusalem and places like Dimona) hybrid pronounciation used there but still even non-Jewish sabbath keepers who went to Israel have no clue about the differences even if they started to study Hebrew.. it boggles my mind to be honest. I mean there are so many Mizrahi singers using the more correct pronounciation of Hebrew both in the past and today and many of them do sing worship songs every now and then and yet.. sadly messianic non-Jews are totally unaware.

This would be a great topic to post on in the appropriate threads: Books, Music, Videos; thoughts; Messianic Music, Dance; ec.
Most who come here are ex-Gentiles, proselytes to Messianic Judaism. We are always learning. We are aware there are differences, but most probably don't know much about them. As you say, we tend to follow the dominant culture, which is Ashkenazi.
