Now I can expect that anyone seeing the title of this topic will wonder "what the heck is wrong with guy"? I can't blame you but indulge in this a little please. Since Lot's daughter's got him drunk so they could have a child and one of their descendants was Moab, was this the same Moab the husband of Ruth?

Since Lot's daughter's got him drunk so they could have a child and one of their descendants was Moab, was this the same Moab the husband of Ruth? 2 parts to that question:
1. "Was this the same Moab the husband of Ruth?" No, Ruth was a Moabite, a descendant of Moab's. She married one of Naomi and Elimelech's sons, who died. We're not told which one, but there were 2, Mahlon and Chilion. Since she was a widow, she was free to marry Boaz, a man of Naomi's clan as she stayed with her mother in-law and worshiped the God of Israel. I don't think we were given the name of Moab's wife (or wives).
2. "Did getting Lot drunk change Israel's history?" Yes. The creation of the Moabites and the Amonites had a definate influence on the history of Israel.
