I just got this from the International Fellowship od Christians and Jews:
Israel Needs Your Prayers for Peace and Protection
Jerusalem Day, which Israelis observed today, is meant to be a celebration commemorating the liberation and reunification of God’s Holy City during the Six-Day War in 1967.
Instead, Israel is torn by widespread violence and unrest.
There is rioting in Jerusalem – the Holy City is under attack. The Western Wall has been evacuated and fires have been set on the Temple Mount. Rockets are being fired by Hamas from Gaza. Incendiary kites and balloons – children’s toys transformed into weapons of war and destruction – are being sent across the Gaza border into southern Israel.
Terrorists are doing ALL they can to sow violence, destruction, and fear. Now more than ever, Israel needs her friends to lift their voices in prayer.
Pray for safety for Israelis who have retreated to bomb shelters to be safe from rocket fire.
Pray for all those traumatized by these attacks – the children and families, and our Fellowship staff in Israel – that are huddled in bomb shelters RIGHT NOW, hoping and praying for an end to hostilities.
Pray for a swift end to the unrest that has torn apart God’s Holy City.
Pray for the brave Israel Defense Forces soldiers, police, and first responders who are serving their country on the front lines. “I am for peace; but when I speak, they are for war” (Psalm 120:6-7).
Israel is for peace. Please pray for the day when God’s great gift of shalom will cover our troubled region and extend around the entire world.
The Fellowship
