Get yourself a topo/raised relief map of the Jezreel Valley in Israel. This one will do:

Now think about where you grew up. Picture the landmarks. Odds are these hold memories not only of your childhood, but of local history; maybe even legends and lore. Growing up in New Mexico and seeing most of the state I had just a huge understanding of the sweep of history, from the old west to more recent history of WWII and even what then was current history. Not to mention a childhood filled with exploration, wonderment and awe; and a few dangers along the way to keep life interesting!
Now knowing that the geography holds memories, and knowing all the great Bible stories that take place in and around the Jezreel Valley, it is easy to imagine the effect they would have had on a young boy growing up and educated in a small town atop the Nazareth ridge, where he could look out and see all these places; the hills, the cities, the rivers, the valley floor. And this in the most beautiful region in all Israel! Walking a short distance west to the point of the ridge He’d have an almost perfect panoramic view of much of the history of his people. Now imagine He was the Crown Prince of Israel, and the Anointed One of God spoken of by the prophets, many of whom had walked the hills and valleys and pathways this child could see. Now imagine if God were to create the perfect place for His Son to grow up and be educated.
