I'd like to know if anyone has any views about the origin of the Phoenicians. These are the ancient seafaring people who are renowned for their wisdom and knowledge. They are credited with the invention of alphabetic writing and are thought to have taught it to the Hebrews and Greeks. It is from their name that we get the word "phonetics", and from one of their patriarchs called Cadmus, who might be real or mythical, we get the word "academy".
There are three possibilities about their origins. They could have been:
* Caananites
* Edomites
* Descendants of Feinius Farsaidh who appears in the Irish history as a grandson of Magog.
I'd like to hear the views of anyone who thinks that one of these might be correct.

I am also interested in hearing more on this subject as I have not done much study in this area. Thank you for sharing Mike!
Shalom,
Reuel
