Psalm 110 last verse
The L-rd is at your right; He crushes on the day of His anger, kings. He will judge the nations that are filled with corpses, He will crush the leader of the mighty land. From a river along the way He shall drink - therefore he may (proudly) lift (his) head.
Any ideas what is going on in this verse regarding the river and drinking from it along the way?

Psalm 110 last verse The L-rd is at your right; He crushes on the day of His anger, kings. He will judge the nations that are filled with corpses, He will crush the leader of the mighty land. From a river along the way He shall drink - therefore he may (proudly) lift (his) head. Any ideas what is going on in this verse regarding the river and drinking from it along the way? This is a tough one, but I'll take a stab at it:. It's prophetic of the end times, so there is a lot of metaphor. Psalm 110 (ESV) Sit at My Right Hand A Psalm of David. 1 The Lord says to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand, God speaking (metaphorically) o Yeshua? until I make your enemies your footstool.” Until the time is right and you are sent to conquer those who reject you 2 The Lord sends forth from Zion your mighty scepter. A symbol of power and majesty Rule in the midst of your enemies! It's time to go forth≈ 3 Your people will offer themselves freely on the day of your power,[Or on the day you lead your forces] Those who have accepted Him will freely go as He directs in holy garments;[some manuscripts on the holy mountains] Dressed probably in new garments, possibly in glorified bodies from the womb of the morning, the dew of your youth will be yours. Possessing the health of a young person? Us? Yeshua? 4 The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind, “You are a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.” This speaks directly of Yeshua 5 The Lord is at your right hand; he will shatter kings on the day of his wrath. God is with Yeshua as He destroys kings/kingdoms 6 He will execute judgment among the nations, filling them with corpses; he will shatter chiefs[Or the head] over the wide earth. Those who rejected Yeshua will face judgement, and many will perish 7 He will drink from the brook by the way; therefore he will lift up his head. To lower your head to drink from a brook in safety, you must have taken it and sufficiently destroyed the enemy so they are no longer a threat, therefore He lifts His head after safely drinking from what is now His newly acquired brook Sandwiched between a Psalm which is a cry for help and another which is praise for the Lord's works this Psalm is the assurance that His works of redeeming the world will come. This is just how I see it. So don't take it as the final word on this. Dan C
