Question on a version of the Bible.

I have a question on a certain version of the Bible called"The Scriptures" and was wondering if it is a good version of the Bible. Here is a link to check it out: isr-messianic.org.

My experience is that "The Scriptures" isn't a good version to use, since it's more of a Hebrew Roots/Sacred Name Bible version.
It spells out the Name of God in Hebrew, implying that the Name of God should be pronounced in Hebrew but that the reader can pronounce it in any way he/she sees fit.  Also, it renders Messiah's name incorrectly as יהשוע* (Yeshua, in Hebrew characters) instead of Yeshua (ישוע), to try to push the agenda that Messiah's name is Yeshua and not Yeshua.

I would avoid this version completely and recommend the TLV or the CJB.

*Correction: In The Scriptures (ISR), Messiah's name is actually spelled יהושע, which makes even less sense if it is to be pronounced "Yeshua" (because the vav would have to be silent, and that goes against Hebrew grammar).  Of course, some in the Hebrew Roots Movement pronounce it "Yehusha" (or something like that) so that would justify that I guess.  Anyway, it's a Hebrew Roots-Sacred Name Bible.

I am going to have to put a caution here, because we are getting pretty close to instruction on how to say the name of Yeshua, and I don't want this thread to take off that direction:

I have the ISR version, called "The Scriptures" on my bookshelf; and I agree with Benayahu about it. It is Hebrew Roots and a favorite of the Sacred Names crowd. I'd avoid it.
