These are some web sites I love to visit concerning messianic christianity I am sharing these for those who are interested.
Mod Note: Redacted one link because of the sensationalistic nature of the host and the videos teaching things diametrically opposed to our SoF. The second is a request for donations and an online store.
The one left is Hebrew Roots, and so essentially more Christian than Messianic. However I'm leaving it because this is where many of us started, and we may be able to help others work through some of this. But be aware the site does not express the views of either this forum or MJ at large in much of its content. Dan

Gail, just so you know the term "Messianic Christian" is sort of an oxymoron. Messianism and Christianity are two distinct religions which, while we worship essentially the same God and both believe in Yeshua/Jesus, we have some profound differences as well. And those differences are both many and profound. To start with, we believe in "One Law," that is that everyone is still responsible to follow ; Christians believe the "Law" was done away with. We do not believe in a Trinity, although we do believe Elohim manifest Himself as Father, Son and Spirit. We do not believe Rav Sha'ul was in ANY way anti-Semitic or anti-. We do not believe there are two Bibles- an Old Testament and a New Testament- but rather the B'rith Chadashah, or RENEWED COVENANT is simply a natural continuation of the TNK in Elohim's plan. There is nothing in the so called "New Testament" that was not in the "Old." And while according to the writings of virtually every church father in Christianity they hated the Jews and anything Jewish with a passion, we observe the type of religion practiced by the Nots'rim (Nazarines) of the first century- the same religious movement practiced by the apostles and early believers; and it is a Jewish form of religion. We believe a Jew does not have to "convert," just accept Yeshua as Messiah and Savior. We raised in a Christian or other pagan worldview had to convert when we accepted Yeshua/Jesus. If we believe Paul we are grafted into a Jewish olive tree. For Christians to claim the Jew must be grafted to their pagan tree is completely backwards and in opposition to God's plan. And these are just a very few examples.
So one simply cannot be a "Messianic Christian." That is a mistake that most of us have made when we first started looking through Hebrew Roots. You'll find it there in many places. But once coming into Messianism, most start to realize that it just cannot be. I used to call myself that. It's tough leaving the "faith" we grew up with. It's a process. So if you wish to call yourself by that title it is OK. Just know it isn't really thought of as correct by most MJ's.

I personally feel called to be a witness to Yeshua. This to me has become the job of preserving His identity and role by doing things His way. His way is a Jewish way, and we are witnesses of this; Yeshua's Jewishness and identity. All these paradoxes are exactly what the world needs to see and sort out. That's our job; show them so they have to deal with Him. I call myself Messianic and let Him fill in the blanks by seeking His way because I do respect that Jewish people have endured a history I can't relate to. That being said, we as witnesses to Yeshua on this earth, we are called to endure through terrible persecution as well. The point is G-d will make things undeniable and we need to prepare ourselves for what Yeshua showed us that will entail. We have to be ready to suffer as Jewish people have historically for the sake of Yeshua and Israel, but I personally cannot relate to their story as of now. I see a purpose for it if need be in the future, so pray for strength and faith to step up if called on to do so. I just try to prepare myself for Israel's sake as Yeshua showed me because that's where all this is heading and the world is blessed through Israel's salvation. Christians separating Him from His people does a disservice because who has more in common with the sufferings of Yeshua, Christians or Jews? It terrifies me what they have to go through without the strength we know He gives. He is theirs. They need Him, and He made us His. I believe this is primarily for their sake as the world is blessed and the Kingsom comes through the salvation of Israel. Sooooo, dot dot dot, so on and so forth, here we are, and that's that. The Romans gave the world Christianity not Yeshua, and though many may not realize it, it's fundamentally anti-semetic. That's why so many Christians find it so easy today to disregard and abandon the physical nation of Israel's as given by G-d. The roots of Christianity work against the things of G-d, and loving Israel just because you fear the cursing and desire the blessing isn't enough. You have to love Israel enough to show them Yeshua. unfortunately for us, I think that's most obvious in our willingness to endur to overcome the persecution. There's no resurrection without death, no need for rapture without suffering, no salvation without bondage, and so on. I personally think Jewish people probably get this better than Christians do so I include them as much as I can given my situation for my own strength and faith. Christians won't be prepared with 1/2 the story. The idea of a "Spiritual Israel" is just a way Christians abandon physical Israel and its suffering while trying to claim Israel's blessing. I know I am part of Israel because I have Yeshua, and He has a way of making things known. It's amazing how on so many levels the world just makes no room; Yeshua, Israel, us. Ultimately, it's trying to make no room for G-d. Frustrating truth and why He gave us His Spirit to keep us close to Him.

I am sorry for saying Messianic Christian in my post. Nothing to be sorry for. We all had to start somewhere, and we me here to learn. And as I said, this is a common mistake for those of us who cam through Hebrew Roots.

I am sorry for saying Messianic Christian in my post. Absolutely nothing to apologize for. Be yourself and be where your at. Then just go from there. I just had a lot to say on the subject because I myself struggle with how to present myself, and so have put a lot of thought into it. I just realized how judgmental I came across. I do need to apologize for that.
