Well, as the title really. I have found some books by J K McKee on various subjects, including a few commentaries and other messianic titles. One is called Introduction to Things Messianic: An Introduction for Newcomers to the Messianic Movement. Has anyone read it? Does anyone know anything about the author? Good or bad, in general?

I've never heard of the author but come to think of it, I realized that I'd never looked into any books on Messianic Judaism...which is interesting. It's strange because I'm always trying to "look into something" that I'm interested in. I don't know, maybe that's a good thing

I don't know this author either. I can only tell you that I have literally filled my garbage with books I've bought since coming to Messianic Judaism. Many looked good, even when I perused them a bit at the bookstores. But once I really got into them they contained far too much false doctrine. I still have some in which I've found things that are false, but I kept for other information they contain. Most of what is out there is really HR trying to pump up its creds. But I am an old fashioned turn-the-pages kind of guy, and so have spent way too much to keep far too little. All I am saying is be very careful buying books, and never spend the grocery money on 'em. It's like (actually it's exactly like!) gambling: if you can't afford to loose it, don't bet it.
Asking here is a good thing, even though too often no one is familiar. I've sort of backed away from buying books lately. I'm finding it is enough studying what I've got left.

I have found myself feeling similar to Alon. Give G-d time and He always gives you just what you need when you need it through scripture. What you get from someone else's book is , at best, what G-d gave them when they needed it. That's just my personal feeling, but we're all different. Do be careful of wrong teaching. As Alon said, there's a lot of it out there.

I have bought one title - Galatians for the practical Messianic. So far it seems sound enough, but I haven't read much of it yet - it is quite small print and the pages are packed. I'll try to give a fair appraisal when I have finished it and in the meantime, if he says something I am not sure about, I'll be sure to come back and ask.
