Proverbs 6:32 But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.
God will use me to fulfill this scripture. I have an employee who has been meeting with a woman on company time. I will have to fire him. Thus removing his ability to provide for his family. This will strain his relationship with his wife. Then she will find out about the affair and most likely end the marriage. This man is a christian in good standing in a local church. So it is going to be another stain on the church.
Please pray that he will humble himself and repent before God. Pray for his wife and family to have strength for what lies ahead of them. Also, pray for me. It is not a pleasant job to perform.

It is never easy to discipline an employee, especially to fire him. My advice here though is secular, not scriptural, as we still live in a secular world. You may know all this, but it couldn't hurt to get confirmation.
If the infraction is clearly laid out in writing as a fireing offense, and if you can prove he knew this; fire him. Not to do so sets a precedent as well as letting employees know you are a soft touch. You don't need that, and a weak manager is not fair to the other employees. Your conscious should be clear, as it was his actions which brought about his misfortune.
If any doubt about whether or not it is an offense punishable by immediate termination, go to HR and get their counsel. You'll probably have to start the process or warning, time off etc as is laid out in company policy. Make sure both he and others then see you following up, but without making it obvious to anyone but him.
If the process was started on this man, then go to the next level. And don't make the mistake of many that offenses all have to be the same to go to that level. If he was warned about staying at the water cooler too long, he can still get time off without pay for this.
I've had to fire people before. In fact, one job I was the only manager who would fire someone, so anyone with disciplinary problems were sent to me to deal with; that is until I chewed the others out and they just kept their problems but put them in crappy accounts.
Unions- never let a union rep take charge of a meeting. Let them know they are no more than a speed bump in the process. I once fired someone for stealing a bank sucker (that they were giving away anyhow) because the union told me if the company fired another employee in a different bank for using hours of phone time to call long distance I had to fire this guy to be fair. No problem, he was gone by end of shift. They never challenged me again. And I lost no sleep because, frankly, if yu want to turn over your job to a union, then you can suffer the consequences.
Hope this helps.

If it does play out the way you foresee it to, I hope you don't blame yourself for the pain he has caused. That is so devastating for his family. Whether brought into the light or not, he chose destruction. I hope his wife has a good support system in place with true friends to help her be strong and feel loved. I will definitely be praying for them.
If the only way you can act in integrity according to G-d's will shows up his lacking of it; I agree G-d is working to hold him accountable and giving him a chance to truly repent. It sounds like G-d pushed you to the place of no alternative to get this guy to wake up maybe.
I hope G-d is somehow glorified for all involved. Thank G-d that He sees clearly because we just can't. All we can do is act according to His will in a way that we don't compromise our ownselves and trust Him with the rest. This kind of scenario makes that reality plain.
I hope He lifts this family up and their husband and father sees their worth. Prayers for the other woman as well. How desperate a place to be and what an obstacle she has set up for herself to overcome. I hope they get it together enough to allow G-d to make some good of it. Lots of prayers for this family.
