Shalom everyone! I have not been on here in such a long time, but while considering places for encouragement from followers of and messiah, I remembered this place. I just thought I would reintroduce myself. I came to understanding some about 8 years ago when we first started keeping Shabbat, it took a few years for me to come to more understanding of the . Two years ago we started understanding the holy days and started keeping them. Even now I am continuing to learn new things! I was in school for some years and did not have as much time to study and did not take as much time as I should have. Last year was an extremely bad time for me in my faith and I almost was ready to walk away from beliefs and religion of any sort at the time I was so discouraged and in despair. Much was due to my lack of time and almost daily seeing poor examples of Messiah and people constantly pointing out what they deemed to be biblical errors, as well as some other issues I was going through. I finally realized that if I cant trust any human, and I cant trust my bible, then I have nothing to trust at all, so from that point on I have refused to listen to anyone who tries to belittle scriptures and take away the validity in it. I have to have a foundation for my faith, otherwise I have nothing to stand on. Since having completed college and had time to sort through my life again and get into scriptures more, I have been doing a lot better spiritually and seeing wherein I let myself slip. It has been a long journey, but God has helped me to see things a lot clearer through it. I still have a long ways to go and many things to learn and overcome, but I know YHVH says, "Ye shall seek me and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart." Which I am still learning to do; there are some worldly influences in my life, so there is spiritual warfare daily, so any prayers would be appreciated. I am not sure how much I will be able to come on, but I am glad to see people still active here and look forward to reading everything I missed out on in my absence.

Shalom! Welcome back! And thanks for the reintroduction.
Glad you have stuck it out with your faith, and hope we can be a help and inspiration to each other. ... We try to point out errors in translation, errors in our thought and understanding, and errors in what we were taught- and sadly there are many. However, as you say, if we seek Hashem, we will find Him. And if we seek the truth of His Word, we will find that as well. The truth is there, but we must engage our minds and compare everything to what came before it, with as our foundation. The truth in what we have is what we are after, not the destruction of any part of it.
We all go through dry spells, or slumps. I am in sort of one now (sometimes it seems like I'm more slumped than pumped). But still, the truth of the Word is always before me. I've told my wife, and I firmly believe this, but if it were not for Messianic Judaism and the understanding I have gotten from its studies I would have by now fallen away again; this time possibly for the last time. New Testament Christianity has just never rang true to me. Understanding it as the B'rith Chadashah however does, as this book is in complete agreement with all that came before, the TNK, especially .
2 Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
This verse for me ties the Kethuvai Shelachim (apostolic writings) to the TNK, as this NT verse can only refer to the OT, the only scriptures in existence when this was written. It is all one book, Genesis to Revelation.
Good to see you back.

Shalom,
John 3:8 "The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit."

Thank you, Dan, for your welcome and thoughts! I agree with you completely on that. I think if I had been raised any other way without so much foundational truth that I had learned, I would have definitely fallen away some years ago. That is also such a good reminder and scripture passage. I like how you describe that. Thanks so much once again! Welcome! It is nice to have you here. Life can be such a struggle. I am sorry that you are dealing with so much, and I will be praying for you. Hopefully we get to her from you at least now and then. Thank you very much, Elizabeth. I really appreciate that. Shalom everyone! so from that point on I have refused to listen to anyone who tries to belittle scriptures and take away the validity in it. I will support you in that endeaver. welcome back. Jimmie Thank you very much, Jimmie! Shalom, John 3:8 "The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit." Thanks for posting that verse, it is a good one!
