]PARASHA: "EKEV" (as a result)
Deut 7:12 - 11:25 , Isaiah 49:14 - 51:3 ,Romans 8:31 - 39
Shabbat shalom to all, we are continuing to look at the final speech of Moshe before he expires, He has anointed Yehoshua to lead the people to the promised land, and rightly so, when we look at the symbolic significance, we see that the name "Yehoshua" is a form of "Yeshua" which means "Salvation". Who else would lead us into our promised "rest" but "Yeshua HaMashiach.
This is still about a "conditional covenant" obedience = blessings and disobedience = curses. We still see that today, in every day life. But Moshe also says "remember YHVH " who has lead you all these 40 years in the wilderness. When Israel finally gets to Canaan, and they set up their farms, olive groves, grape vines, etc, set up businesses
will they remember and honor YHVH who made this all possible? in the beginning they remembered, but as time goes by, they turn away from YHVH have they already forgotten that they are there because of the power and might of YHVH?
Moshe reminds the people of their rebellions, he reminds them that YHVH wanted to "wipe them out!" But, Moshe intervened , and pleaded mercy for them. Does that remind us of someone? who pleaded "our" case? before YHVH? we all know the answer, that Yeshua placed HIS own blood on the altar in the New Jerusalem, and so was our lawyer, before the "judge" who is the Father.
In chapter 10, Moshe made two new stone tablets and YHVH carved the ten commandments onto the new tablets, if we remember, the original ones were broken by Moshe himself when he saw the people dancing before the golden calf. When a covenant was broken in Bible times, the clay or stone onto which the details were written was broken, so now, a "renewed" covenant was made, YHVH is giving Israel a second chance, as He has given us all "many chances" we can always come back to HIM if we fail. When the Ark of the covenant was finished, the tablets were put inside it and on Yom Kippur, when the High Priest went into the Holy of Holies, and sprinkled blood on top of the mercy seat, when the Shekinah looked down, the Spirit of G-d saw the blood before he saw the tablets, so the blood "covered" the sins of the people,.
But...with Yeshua, HIS blood erased ALL of our sins, once and for ever, His death was sufficient for ALL TIMES, no wonder HIS blood covenant is better than the old.
What does YHVH require of you says ? "fear the LORD your God, Walk in all of his ways, to love Him, to serve Him, and keep His commandments" how is this possible if we are sinners? only through the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) is this possible, through being "born again" according to John 3:3.

ISAIAH 49
has YHVH forgotten Israel? that is the question, but Adonai says NO, I have not forgotten you. We can see God as a father who chastises his children, even though a father takes his sons and/or daughters to the wood shed, and tans their hides for disobedience, He will NEVER stop being their father, He will always love them,
In the future, the blessings will come to Israel and to all who are part of the great family of the commonwealth of Israel, nations will bow down to Israel, the "servant" (Israel's hope) will sit on the throne and rule, and we with Him and with our family members
"My will proceed from Me" "YESHUA has gone forth" (chap 51) this is the top evidence of G-d's love for HIS people, could we hope for more?

Romans 8: 31-39
If YHVH is for us, who can be against us? Rav Shaul writes, Nothing will separate us from G-d's love for us. We have been sealed with the Ruach HaKodesh, with the blood of Yeshua, in whom we set our trust and faith, even if the world is against us, HE is for us, and when our bodies finally cease to function, we will have renewed ones in Heaven, and forever we will be with the LORD.
