I picked up a copy of this version while at the UMJA conference, as they were being sold pretty reasonably priced by one of our sister congregations and I had heard enough about it to be curious. After using it a bit, it looks to me to be a Hebrew Roots version of the scriptures with little to recommend it over other translations other than a few Hebrew names and terms scattered sparsely throughout. I am a bit concerned with some of the transliterations used: not enough to denounce this version but enough to cause concern. For example (from the ESV, since I don't have the ONM online):
Matthew 6:9-12 Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

But now let's look at how the One New Man version translates vss. 11 & 12: "You must now give us today the things necessary for our existence. You must right now forgive our sins for us, in the same manner as we have completed forgiving everyone ..." Talk about demanding grace by formulae! These are requests! How about a little respect and common courtesy. If I asked you for even a glass of water, I'd say "please." How much moreso if I am asking God to sustain and to forgive me!?
Since all modern translations suffer from being first reworked in Greek, I can give a lot of leeway even in an interpretation which tries to restore some of the "Hebrew Roots" of our faith. However this did seem a bit harsh. I'm sure they were trying to get across the clearest idea from the Greek, but if they are going to claim status in HR, and especially in Messianism, then they should consider the Hebrew culture of the times and at least tone this kind of rhetoric down some. I don't see Yeshua as teaching us to be so demanding and arrogant when asking favors of God.
Sorry, but I can't really recommend this version.
