Romans 15:25-27 (ESV) At present, however, I am going to Jerusalem bringing aid to the saints. For Macedonia and Achaia have been pleased to make some contribution for the poor among the saints at Jerusalem. For they were pleased to do it, and indeed they owe it to them. For if the Gentiles have come to share in their spiritual blessings, they ought also to be of service to them in material blessings.
This, to me, amounts to an instruction for us to help the Jewish people. Today Meshiachim and Jews face persecution and deprivation around the world. We need to come to their aid materially, as it says here we owe to them. However the remez (hinting) interpretation of this would also suggest we should come to their aid whenever we witness persecution or hear discrimination against them. Not quite a sod insight, but still a deeper meaning might be we should look for latent anti-Semitism in ourselves. For those raised in Christian churches, the teachings of the church fathers have been so drilled into us we might not even know of it.
My wife doesn't like me telling people at church that she was raised Jewish- they can say the most insensitive and hurtful things. One friend even asked her "Well, aren't we supposed to hate the Jews?"
Go figure ...
