I just thought you all might like to know why so few people participate here. This is a well moderated forum. By that I mean we have rules and they are enforced. We try not to be overbearing, but disruptions and blatant disregard for the SoP and/or the SoF, or for other posters gets dealt with quickly. We prefer quality over the rivers of inane and even insane stuff, including all kinds of false doctrine that you typically get on other forums. This has caused a few people to fall away, no longer participating in discussion here.
We now have a simple vetting process in place for new members, which includes three questions and a quick background check. At a conservative estimate, 1 in over 20 applicants will respond to my email. Of those, often as not something is wrong. They either admit to or are found to be anti-missionaries, Christians bent on bringing us back to the "truth" (as they understand it), cults trying to fly Messianic colors, marketing teams looking to sell us their stuff, ebonites, or others. Many are still welcomed here, but told they will have to adhere to the rules. Some are banned, but most just decide not to participate when they learn they'll be watched just like everyone else here.
Of those who do sign on, a significant number only lurk, presumably reading what we say as "guests". This is hard to say how many since people can do this without signing up, thus the count is skewed. We encourage even lurkers to sign on though, as it gives them options- the first being obviously they can post if they have a question or even an occasional comment.
So you may be few here who actively participate; but you can be proud in your wanting to search out God's truth.
Shalom.

These are common problems that occur with all forums. I have been on Jewish forums that have had their share of missionaries and anti-semites post. And just a lot of strange people in general. The good news is that the honest and dedicated ones stick around while the others do not. Quality over quantity any time.

Just to inform you all: I've recently had requests to join who would not answer the questions in the vetting process. However they have contacted me by email asking for money. One posted here as a guest wanting to sell counterfeit money as a means of "alleviating world hunger." By the grace of God I came on 1 minute after he posted and was able to remove the post and ban his IP address. The point is, I think we are being targeted. This is a favorite trick of, among others, Muslim organizations to bleed our resources and increase their coffers. So if you should see such posts or if you are contacted directly through other media (fb, etc.) please beware. There are organizations they can go through to get aid, and most of these will vet them so scams are weeded out. Which is of course another reason they contact Meshiachim and Christians directly.

Dan C I think this is pretty common with forums. They all seemed to get spammed.

I think this is pretty common with forums. They all seemed to get spammed. Yes, I am sure other forums have to deal with this kind of thing. I'd imagine Jewish forums are a particular target, and it's not the first time it's happened here. The problem this time is they went to the trouble of setting up new email accounts specifically dedicated to us so they wouldn't be detected as spamers or thieves. Our little forum hardly seems worth the trouble of doing this.
Regardless, this is a common tactic of Islamists, targeting Jews, Messiachim and Christians to fleece us of money. Smart move, from their perspective; and obviously they are not the only scam artists out there. So anywhere you are known as Jewish or Messianic, watch out for these fraudulent tactics. Give through legitimate charities which you've checked out. And if suspicious posts pop up here, please report them.

I've seen them sign up at other forums too and then schnorr, sometimes with interesting (but undoubtedly fabricated) stories. I don't really think they are Muslims out to deplete the coffers. I think they figure people at religious forums are more compassionate and therefore easier marks. Indeed one should give via legitimate charities.
