PARSHA "Noach" Shalom to all at Ahavat Elohim, I am writing this one day ahead of time, since this Friday
is our Synagogue's Sephardic (Spanish) service which I head up, so, Shabbat Shalom ahead of time
GENESIS 6:9-11:32 ISAIAH 54:1-55:5 MATTHEW 24:36-44
This might be one of the longer Parshot, but back in chapter 4 of Genesis, verse 10 it says, "The voice of thy brother's blood (damei) crieth unto me from the ground"
(God speaking to Cain) the word "damei" is plural for "blood" but we ask, "how can "blood" be plural? can we say "bloods?" not really, not in Engish, unless you're talking about the gang "the bloods" but we see another example, "B'nei" which is "children" (damei B'nei) "blood of the children" (many children, much blood) in the case of "B'nei Israel" in Egypt, the little children killed by Pharaoh. But the blood of righteous Abel (damei) cries for justice.
We might look at it this way, the word "damei" could symbolize "the blood of all of Abel's descendants who would never be born, they are crying out for justice.
The Talmud says; "He who murders one soul, it is if he has murdered a whole nation, and he who saves one soul, it is if he has saved an entire nation" get it?
NOACH: We see that in the midst of all the wickedness, there is a family of righteous people, going, per say; "against the flow" Adonai recognizes this, and Noach and his family are selected to continue the human race after the flood, So, Noach and his wife (said to be; Na'ama, sister of Enoch) and his sons, and wives, obeyed, built the ark and were saved. We can look at it this way;
There is faith, but there has to be obedience coupled with faith, or....faith without works is dead... And if Noach had not obeyed, then, we would probably be plants or fish, not people, as no one would have survived the flood, but we have obedience, an ark, a floating barge, perfect sea going vessel, built to withstand the tempest of the flood, Inside, Noach's family and representatives of all the animal kingdom (Yes, even the dinosaurs, the baby ones probably)
The Ark can be symbolized as Yeshua! He is our "Ark of safety" with only "One Door of entrance" (One way!) outside is judgment, Noach and his family did not escape judgment, they went THROUGH the judgment, yet were saved, as we go through judgment, tribulation, trails, testings, on earth, Yeshua said, "you will have tribulation!" but after the flood, Noach and his family were released, into a "new world" we look forward to the "World to come" the difference is that it will be a world void of sin, Noach and his family still had the sin nature, which showed up when Noach got drunk!! Canaan got cursed, because his father Ham was already blessed, even though he "did something" to his father Noach. (could it have been an act of homosexuality?) poor Canaan! notice that today there are no Canaanites! all were destroyed, They are the ones who made "tattoos" on themselves, (hello!!)
We see that the sin nature continues, the descendants of Noach brought forth the first 70 nations on earth, some names are recognized "Ashkenaz" (Germany) which many Jews today are, including me! on my father's side, "Meshek"
(Moscow) "Tubal" (Tobolsk) in Russia. "Mitzraim" (Egypt) the flood probably happened around 3000 B.C. more or less.
We see the "Tower of Babel" headed by "Nimrod" they did not want to disperse and go to other parts of the earth on their own, so, God helped them, by giving them different languages and divided them up into "people groups" which went out in different directions, this was when the great "ice age" came upon the earth, and some migrated, found caves to live in, drew pictures of "mammoths" etc
We have 70 nations and 70 languages, BUT Hebrew was still spoken by the line that lead to Abraham, so, now, we have the "Ish Emunah" (Man of Faith) God decides to chose his people through Abraham, He was honestly searching, and God recognized that, He was obedient, and that is what Adonai wants, obedience!
and action! He believed and he moved his family, (Faith coupled by action)
some think that the language of "cave men" was "grunts and groans, and gestures, NO, all languages were fully developed by God, with grammar, syntax, specific pronunciations, there at "Babel" and they all stemmed from "Hebrew"

ISAIAH 54:1-55:5
"Everyone who is thirsty, come to the waters......" The prophet mentions "buying, eating, without price, no money needed. So how can you "buy without money?"
"The Waters" the "living waters" as Yeshua said about himself on Hashanna Raba
(Sukkot) He is "Yeshuah" (salvation) and "Yeshuah" is not sold, buy given away for free, but it is NOT without price, the price was paid for by Yeshua himself, with HIS blood.

MATTHEW 24:36-44
"No one knows the hour of the coming of the Son of Man" only the Father, just like in the time of Noach, Only Noach knew about the Flood, BUT the scripture does not tell us that God told Noach the exact day when the flood came, Noach was just ready, inside the Ark, awaiting the rains, Are we all awaiting Messiah's return? are we ready? It isn't that we are going to sell everything, quit our jobs and go up to a mountain top and await Messiah's return, we are to continue our jobs, our ministries, our writing, (for those of us who are authors) BUT be prepared in case He calls us today. Yes, He is coming, the signs of the times are eminent .
