Ezekiel 47:21-23 (ESV) 21 "So you shall divide this land among you according to the tribes of Israel. 22 You shall allot it as an inheritance for yourselves and for the sojourners who reside among you and have had children among you. They shall be to you as native-born children of Israel. With you they shall be allotted an inheritance among the tribes of Israel. 23 In whatever tribe the sojourner resides, there you shall assign him his inheritance, declares the Lord GOD.
According to my TNK Study Bible: And “for the sojourners who reside among you”- Heb gerim, those who joined the Jewish community during the exile. They live according to the same laws as Israelites. (Lev 19:34; Num 15:29)
This is interesting because the inheritance of the gerim was dependent on being not just part of Yisra’el, but being a member of a particular tribe! All things Biblical being connected, what would this say about Rev 22: 12 "Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay everyone for what he has done.”? Both being true as the Word of God, I have a couple of ideas. But thought I’d throw it up for comment first.
