24. It is a negative commandment for the enticed person to bear no affection for the enticer.
Devarim 13:8 (OJB) 8 (13:9) Thou shalt not yield unto him, nor give heed unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him;
Deuteronomy 13:8 (DRV) 8 Consent not to him, hear him not, neither let thy eye spare him to pity and conceal him,

This is a tough one. If we read on: 9 But thou shalt presently put him to death. Let thy hand be first upon him, and afterwards the hands of all the people. 10 With stones shall he be stoned to death: because he would have withdrawn thee from the Lord thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage:
We all know people close to us who do try to entice us to read horoscopes, have Tarot readings, or worse. We can't stone 'em, even if sometimes we feel like it! But should we cut them off?
Certainly while they are spouting such nonsense I cut them short and leave them with no questions about my feelings on the matter. But am I to treat them as dead?
What are we to do with close friends and family who might do something like this?

This is kind of at odds with the Christian view of "Hate the sin not the sinner."

26. It is a negative commandment not to rescue the enticer if one sees him in danger of death.

I actually have no problem with this as it is written. It'd be hard to do, but the world would be a better place for it.
