Questor, you had put that together so well. And yes, I would agree with you with regards to worship. We need to worship the one true God and Satan hates that when we do so.

Thank you, MoriahRuth...I badly needed a reminder list to look at when I am feeling stumped on what to do.
And Alon...you made me laaauuugh!!!!!!...but yes, why not? If you are blessed (cursed) with them?
It is amazing how peaceful and happy one becomes while doing so. I was listening hard to Abba after asking about being cursed, and healing...and I got a picture in my mind of the words that were written, of Paul saying, "I speak more than all of you do." And so I have added that to the equation.
I would love it if my 'tongue' was Hebrew...it would save me from studying flashcards that just don't stick in my brain! But Alas, when speaking it sounds like some Native American Dialect, and when singing, like a very archaic French. The only reason I know that, is that I asked the Ruach to make me able to understand my tongue, and I get to when singing...at least as far as a garbled French/Latin will go. I get the gist of what is being sung...some of the time.
Why are the AoG people freaking out? Tongues should be a given for them!
I do know that many people think it is of the 'Devil", while others think it is just emotionalism...and the demand for it at my Baptism without prior knowledge of what Tongues were scared me away from Churches permanently (and that was when I was 15!), still about 17 years ago, (I was 42) I was curious, prayed with some lady to get it, and...it flowed. Weird!
It's always there...like turning on the water. Words flow...sometimes very repetitiously, sometimes straying all over the place. And singing can even come with music I never heard before, and in my deepish voice sounds hideous and out of tune! Not something that I do except when I'm alone...or under my breath. He he he.
I do not know what it is, but it's there, and it's spiritually very peaceful, even joyous.
Trryyyy it....you'll liiikkke it!

Jeremiah 16:20 (NASB95) 20Can man make gods for himself? Yet they are not gods!
1 Corinthians 8:5–6 (NASB95) 5For even if there are so-called gods whether in heaven or on earth, as indeed there are many gods and many lords, 6yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him.
Isaiah 43:10–11 (NASB95) 10“You are My witnesses,” declares the LORD, “And My servant whom I have chosen, So that you may know and believe Me And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, And there will be none after Me. 11“I, even I, am the LORD, And there is no savior besides Me.

Many things are worshiped as god. But they are not gods.
Also...
1 Corinthians 10:19–20 (NASB95) 19What do I mean then? That a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything? 20No, but I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God; and I do not want you to become sharers in demons.
Deuteronomy 32:17 (NASB95) 17“They sacrificed to demons who were not God, To gods whom they have not known*, New gods* who came lately, Whom your fathers did not dread.
* Reminder Isaiah 43:10-11
In John when Jesus dealt with the opposition in Jewish leadership they tried to convict him of blasphemy for calling God his own Father...
John 10:30–36 (NASB95) 30“I and the Father are one.” 31The Jews picked up stones again to stone Him. 32Jesus answered them, “I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?” 33The Jews answered Him, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God.” 34Jesus answered them, “Has it not been written in your Law, ‘I SAID, YOU ARE GODS’? 35“If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken), 36do you say of Him, whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’?
Psalm 82:6–8 (NASB95) 6I said, “You are gods, And all of you are sons of the Most High. 7“Nevertheless you will die like men And fall like any one of the princes.” 8Arise, O God, judge the earth! For it is You who possesses all the nations.
Bear in mind...
Exodus 4:16 (NASB95) 16“Moreover, he shall speak for you to the people; and he will be as a mouth for you and you will be as God to him.
"Ye are Gods..." means God's representatives / witnesses to the lost world. So, back in John 10 Jesus was saying in effect, if you cannot answer this simple problem then how can you determine if I blaspheme or not when I say I am the Son of God?
Go back and read it for yourself.
