I don't know if I'm posting in the right place, but I want to ask if anyone here is familiar with Emil Schurer's five-volume work, "A History of the Jewish People in the Time of Jesus Christ," which Christian Book Distributors is selling for $29.99.
I'm asking because my synagogue is going to study Messianic Jewish history over the next three months, and Schurer's history, if fair, would be useful. Although we're using a one-volume history put together by a sister congregation in the MJAA, I'd love to have a more thorough history if it's available.
If you know of some good histories besides Schurer's, please let me know.
