Ya’akov 4:1-10 1 What is causing all the quarrels and fights among you? Isn't it your desires battling inside you? 2 You desire things and don't have them. You kill, and you are jealous, and you still can't get them. So you fight and quarrel. The reason you don't have is that you don't pray! 3 Or you pray and don't receive, because you pray with the wrong motive, that of wanting to indulge your own desires. 4 You unfaithful wives! Don't you know that loving the world is hating God? Whoever chooses to be the world's friend makes himself God's enemy! 5 Or do you suppose the Scripture speaks in vain when it says that there is a spirit in us which longs to envy? 6 But the grace he gives is greater, which is why it says, "God opposes the arrogant, but to the humble he gives grace." 7 Therefore, submit to God. Moreover, take a stand against the Adversary, and he will flee from you. 8 Come close to God, and he will come close to you. Clean your hands, sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded people! 9 Wail, mourn, sob! Let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy into gloom! 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
So here is the study I have been thinking about. How does the verse above specifically verse 4 go along with
Yochanan 3:16
16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only and unique Son, so that everyone who trusts in him may have eternal life, instead of being utterly destroyed.
So the question I pose is this. The Greek word for World is Kosmos and this leaves a lot of room for interpretation since its usage. Could this of been correctly translated into say “Land” Or the inhabitants of the land in a more personal narrow sense type meaning? Strongs says this number 2889 Kos’-mos prob. From the base of 2865; orderly arrangement, i.e. decoration; by impl. The world (in a wide or narrow sense, incl. its inhab., lit, or fig. (mor.]):-adorning world. So here is the base word 2865;
Kom-id’-zo from a primary komeo (to tend,i.e. take care of); prop. To provide for, i.e.(by impl.) to carry off); (as is from harm; generally obtain):-bring, receive.
I am still trying to find out more about the meaning in Aramaic just to see if anything changes. Anyone have any thoughts?

By going to the narrow sense of the word I think we see its true meaning (The inhabitants). I will ask things time from time to get people to study things out and look into it on their own. Thanks for the responses any other thoughts?
