We see that those whom have Gentile origins, who come to faith in Yeshua The Messiah, find
themselves also being adopted into the family of Yisra'el no longer to be Gentiles. We see in the story of Ruth she abandoned her old self to become grafted in. In Ephesians 2:11-13 the Emissary
Sha’ul (Paul) teaches Gentiles the following, “Therefore, remember your former state: you
Gentiles by birth - called the Uncircumcised by those who, merely because of an operation on
their flesh, are called the Circumcised - at that time had no Messiah. You were estranged from
the national life of Yisra'el. You were foreigners to the covenants embodying God's promise.
You were in this world without hope and without God. But now, you who were once far off
have been brought near through the shedding of the Messiah's blood”. And, Ephesians 2:19
states, “So then, you are no longer foreigners and strangers. On the contrary, you are fellow citizens
with God's people and members of God's family”.
Israel is still a place and a land. Just because we are adopted into the covenant it does not mean we replaced the covenant with something else.
In the second half of a prophecy found in Yeshaiyahu (Isaiah) 44:5 I believe we read
about Gentile adoption into Yisra'el. It says, “One will say, 'I belong to HaShem.' Another will
be called by the name of Ya'akov. Yet another will write that he belongs to HaShem and adopt
the surname Yisra'el".
Romans 8:3-8,
as it speaks to the changing of our nature in connection with Adonai’s
. For it says, “For
what the
could not do by itself, because it lacked the power to make the old nature
cooperate, God did by sending his own Son as a human being with a nature like our own sinful
one [but without sin]. God did this in order to deal with sin, and in so doing he executed the
punishment against sin in human nature” so that the just requirement of the
might be
fulfilled in us who do not run our lives according to what our old nature wants but according to
what the Spirit wants. For those who identify with their old nature set their minds on the things
of the old nature, but those who identify with the Spirit set their minds on the things of the
Spirit. Having ones mind controlled by the old nature is death, but having ones mind controlled
by the Spirit is life and shalom. For the mind controlled by the old nature is hostile to God,
because it does not submit itself to God's
- indeed, it cannot. Thus, those who identify
with their old nature cannot please God.”. We need to pay special attention to the last sentence
in this passage here. We need to abandon ideas of "Gentile Believers" It is a form of Anti-Semitism to think the Jews were in sin for not keeping the
and somehow the Gentiles are in freedom to break
, we need to be careful not to go into those kind of thoughts. We all should be wanting to follow
out of love for a King and Maker.
Romans 11:19-24 goes on to state, “So you will say, "Branches were broken off so that I might
be grafted in." True, but so what? They were broken off because of their lack of trust. However,
you keep your place only because of your trust. So don't be arrogant; on the contrary, be
terrified! For if God did not spare the natural branches, he certainly won't spare you! So take a
good look at God's kindness and his severity: on the one hand, severity toward those who fell
off; but, on the other hand, God's kindness toward you - provided you maintain yourself in that
kindness! Otherwise, you too will be cut off! Moreover, the others, if they do not persist in their
lack of trust, will be grafted in; because God is able to graft them back in. For if you were cut
out of what is by nature a wild olive tree and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive
tree, how much more will these natural branches be grafted back into their own olive tree!”.
Gentiles coming to Messiah must get comfortable living amongst the natural Yisra'eli branches.
Even though Gentiles gain their adoption through Messiah Yeshua, he too is an Yisra'eli branch
coming out of the Yisra'eli olive tree. For Sha’ul says, “how much more will these natural
branches be grafted back into their own olive tree!”. If it is their own tree, it is an Yisra'eli!
America is not Yisra'el it is not a branch of it, it is not a replacement. Messiah is going to rule just like he promised from Yisra'el during the thousand year reign. This is a promise! It will not be in America and it will not be for America. All of those who are adopted children will be brought back to the Land not left in the Nations. We as Children can be a light in the nations and in that light we can see change but scripture does not promise a sugar coated perspective of the end times. Judgmentt from the Father is judgment in its purest form and we should be welcoming it for within such judgmentt there can be birthed change and Teshuvah. We are all just clay in the potters hand, pray for his will and nothing more.
Shalom,
Yedidyah
