We watched the movie...and it was interesting. It was made by a Christian company with input and direction from a Messianic Jewish Rabbi and his congregation...I think. The girl playing "Rivkah" was a fairly good actor, but most of the other actors were hard to watch. Although I appreciated the story line of the conflict and dilemmas between what looked like a Reform community and a Messianic Jewish community, neither Jewish community seemed too observant. None of the Rabbis had tzitziyot, the homes didn't have mezuzah's...but, they did have kippas on. The Jews in this movie were not too traditional and Rivkah didn't dress very modestly, and found herself alone with another Jewish boy on several occasions. Although I understand that this is how it is in much of Christianity and Reform or Conservative communities...I just don't like watching movies that portray this type of behavior in an acceptable light. Their perspective on the anti-missionary character was slightly on the ridiculous side, and although I know some of them can be a little nasty...I think the movie went over the top in portraying the character to be the diabolical villain... After watching it...although it is a movie that features Messianic Jewish believers...I don't know that I can recommend it for the above mentioned reasons. Shalom uv'rachah, R' Reuel

It was a very good movie, its all about Jewish and G-d. I would most definitely recommend it. Let me find out what the name of the movie is. I think y'all will like it.

Yes, I would be interested in the movie that you are speaking of. In regards to The Sound Of The Spirit...I appreciate that they even made the movie...but, sometimes I think with some of these Christian movie makers that they at the very least...before special effects or anything else is considered in their budget that they need good quality actors...something that is sorely missing in most of their productions. Could I do it better? Probably not...but, in regards to filmaking that I would sell to the general public...if I couldn't do it with a certain degree of excellence...I would choose not to do it.

okay I already post it in the movie sec. Are there any other movies that you would recommending watching?? I think with most Christian movies they tend to lean toward more effects and not real actors to do the part without the oooh and ahhh that goes into t he movie. I dont like to watch boring movie if its just all talk, but if it has a good plot.. I'll be eating my popcorn

I just watched this movie. I found it pretty hard to watch with some annoying stereotyping. I was also very bothered by how disrespectful the 12 year old main character was. Lots of "pray for me" and reading scripture, but i really didn't see much of a spiritual story here to be honest. You don't know what she'll end up in the end. I agree the clothing choices did not suit the level of religiousness this movie was depending on for its storyline. Also the storyline for 12 year old kids was too mature of a love story in my opinion. It was more about this 12 year old girl and her relationship with an unbelieving Jewish boy and being accepted by the synagogue then about her faith, or even her and her family. I'm not sure what exactly this movie was trying to achieve, and I wondered at some points if I misunderstood something as it seemed maybe she was going to leave Messianic Judaism for what is considered accepted Judaism. It seemed like that's how it was going to resolve, but instead, it felt like it actually just didn't resolve.
I think if I was Jewish, I would feel like this movie was just kind of trying to reel me in with some sort of apathy to accept Messianic Jews; as if there was no "threat" that Yeshua would change anything.
