I've recently released a new book about this mark of the beast and the seal of God.
The Sabbath is the seal of God as it contains the name, office and juristiction of the Creator whom we worship. It is also a sign of the perpetual covenant and a pledge that those who truly keep it will be made holy.
The book looks at the how the mark of the beast and the seal of God relate to character and personal holiness. Those who receive the seal of God become like Jesus, but those who receive the mark of the beast become like the beast.
The world is being brought into a crisis when the loyalty of all people will be tested to see if they will accept God's seal or choose to believe a lie and receive the mark of the beast.

The wicked and idolaters believe Satans lie in the garden of Eden-you can disobey God and not keep his commandments and you won't die. Satan only wanted to be worshipped-he's also called "the lawless one". Gods law is timeless and eternal and it's important that we keep it

Yep.... I read about how Shabbat is His Bride, whom He is the Lord of, and how it is the only commandment with the [ think narrow] gate. It is the only test in the wilderness that God tested the Israelites on whether they worshiped Him or not.

It is not the only commandment, but it is of a certain supreme importance. Many of the other commandments will be broken if this one is routinely ignored. I love the Sabbath it is an oasis of peace and rest in an otherwise stressful and unrestful world.

I love the Sabbath it is an oasis of peace and rest in an otherwise stressful and unrestful world. An oasis of peace certainly, but one has to keep reminding people that Saturday is an 'off limits' day. I am blessed to have MainC friends who are fine with what I do...and better yet, one friend who is slowly following into the first footsteps of Observance, despite their excellant Brit Chadashah walk, and evident fruit.
However, Shabbat is the point of seperation between obeying Adonai, and not doing so, since everyone in the world was always against the Jews having Shabbat, and have used it as a mark of identity for persecution.
I also believe it will be a soon bone of contention for true Believers, as I truly believe that some MainC Christians are seeing the pagan underpinnings of their churches, and are beginning to see by a "magical' dusting of fascination from the Ruach haKodesh on how First Century Believers lived and worshiped. Slowly, as the MainC churches grow more and more away from Yehoshua's oft stated desire for obedience, and merely to the idea of Grace, the least difficulty or mild persecution (like a change in the tax laws to no longer be able to deduct religious donations on their taxes, or having to belong to a registered church) will cause those who are somewhat obedient to become moreso.

Some good points all through this thread!
Questor, your comment about how others try and interfere with your keeping Shabbath hit home, as I constantly must fight this battle. My wife always seems to find ways for me to break Shabbath. And of course the rest of the world is just on a "Saturday is 'WHOOPIE DAY'" routine and they don't understand my not going along with them. Add to that I don't know a single Christian who even tries to keep their "Sabbath/Lord's Day" anymore (there were precious few even when I was growing up) and they have absolutely no spiritual reference as to why I take this stance. So yes, as others have said, this is a point of testing.

Some good points all through this thread! Questor, your comment about how others try and interfere with your keeping Shabbath hit home, as I constantly must fight this battle. My wife always looks for ways to get me to break Shabbath, or blames me for not doing things then that could well be done another day. Dan C I find it amazing how much more at rest I feel on Sunday...like I can actually relax! Saturday is a sunset to sunset spiritual battle...even when I am left alone. But I now have another Believer...MainC, but with lots of fruit, who at least aknowledges that I keep the Sabbath on Saturday, so I am up to a total of 3 people that accept it. I tell them that I acknowledge the fact that the Ruach might not have them on what I am doing because they are being taught in another order, with other problems to solve first.
In your house, all you can do is trade your Saturday for her Sunday, and thank her a lot for the privilege. Then pray for favor with her, and for her heart to be changed. I try to negotiate with people to get what I want, but if they must go their way, that's when I start praying for Abba to change the circumstances, and to enable me to do what is right, and to forgive me in the name of Yehoshua for what I mess up...because I am always doing that. I am always relieved to know that others have the same problem.

I hope everyone had a good Sabbath.
I remember coming upon this a while back in studying the Scriptures. Sabbath has been from the beginning. It has become so precious to Our family. Even my 11 yr old son keeps telling me how he likes the Sabbath, how we sit down and read the bible as a family. It has a special Place in his young life and I hope to see the fruit in his children (Yah willing). May we stand firm and alone if need be for His word is truth.
