Greetings from LA (lower Alabama)...
First of all, I ,being a gentile who attends a Southern Baptist church (no Messianic congregations in this neck of the woods), have very often been educated in true doctrine as presented in scripture...I don't even have to post many questions, as I seek through your forum, as most questions I have have already been asked and answered by your wonderful members. G-d bless you all!
Secondly, I ask for your prayers for patience as I often contend with Baptists who, when confronted about doctrinal issues (such as the need to keep the Sabbath, along with many vital others) , treat me as some sort of heretic, when I am merely trying to share insights revealed by The Holy Spirit...I was serving a deacon in the church, until I was recently removed from that position with no real explanation as to the real reason. Then I remember the words of Yeshua as He says to rejoice when people persecute you for His name sake.
Being human, though, my first response tends to be hurt feelings, closely followed by anger...of which I know is wrong, as we are to pray for and bless those who persecute those who behave in such a manner, which I have been able to do to a certain degree.
Still, I occasionally feel a stirring up of bitterness (for lack of a better word) at the rejection of what is clearly stated in scripture...They tend to focus on "New Testament" teaching, with no desire to consider what The clearly teaches and defines concerning these issues...I see no "Old" and "New Testaments", but and entire Book, walking hand in hand with each other....it is a Whole Book...not a book full of holes.
Therefore, I humbly ask for your prayers, that I may respond with The Love of Yeshua instead of my evil inclination of hurt feelings, which only worsens the situations, as well as being a sign of my own selfish pride. I feel I have been put where I am as a witness/light to my brothers and sisters.
I ask for prayers not only for me and my own frustration, but my local church as well, that their hearts will be opened to some of the things I , without intending to offending others, attempt to communicate the importance of G-d's entire Word.
Once again, thank you all for your insights provided in The Word through the ministry of this website...may all of you be blessed by The Father for spreading the light of His Word.
I truly love you all. Thank you for your insights and help with the correction of Baptist dogma, as I pray His Holy Spirit will open the eyes and ears of those who misunderstand my intentions. I'm not trying to pull down, but to build up the Truth!
Pray for all of those in similar situations as we sojourn in this world...that we may grow where we have been planted.
