Scripture reference:
(Acts 1:1-7 Orthodox Jewish Brit Chadasha)
In the sefer harishon I wrote about everything, O Theophilus, about Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach Yehoshua, both what he began to do and the shiurim he began to say, Until HaYom, when he made aliyah ascent to Shomayim, having given Moshiach's mitzvot through the Ruach Hakodesh to the Shlichim whom he chose, To whom also he presented himself chai (alive), after his Messianic yissurim (sufferings), by many convincing proofs, during arba'im yamim appearing to his Shlichim and speaking concerning the Malchut Hashem: And, while gathering them at a yechidus, Moshiach gave instructions to them not to depart from Yerushalayim, but to wait for the havtachah (promise) of [Elohim] HaAv which he said, "You heard of from Me. "For Yochanan gave a tevilah of teshuva with a mikveh mayim, but you will receive a tevilah in the Ruach Hakodesh not many yamim from now." And at yechidus, having come together, they were asking him saying, "Adoneinu, is it at this time that You are restoring the Malchut Hashem to Am Yisroel?" But he said to them, "It is not for you to have da'as of the itim (times) or moadim (seasons) which [Elohim] HaAv has set by His own samchut (authority).
Here we see the risen Mashiakh spending forty days and nights with his most beloved, and elect talmidim. Toward the end of those forty days of speaking to them "concerning the Kingdom of G-d" his talmidim ask him "Are you at this time going to restore the Kingdom of G-d to Israel?" To which he answers "It's not for you to know the times, or the seasons which the Father has set in His own authority." From this text, there can be no doubt whatsoever that the Kingdom of G-d had not yet been established. Obviously, if it had already been established, his talmidim would not have asked such a question [especially since he just spent close to forty days discussing the Kingdom with them]. Another point of interest is that Mashiakh infers that the Kingdom would not be established on the upcoming observance of Shavuot.
So, my question to those of you who advocate the "Kingdom now" theory is this. When exactly was the Kingdom of G-d restored to Israel?
Surely this should be a very easy question to answer seeing as how the establishment of the Kingdom was the gospel that Yeshua preached, and was the central message of his entire ministry [as well as the Apostles ministry - Matt 10:7, Lk 9:2].
As a side note. I find it extremely odd that many Christians today (and Messianics) claim to know the answer to the question that Yeshua's most beloved talmidim weren't permitted to know. And apparently Yeshua himself didn't even know [ Mk 13:32, Matt 24:36].
Shalom
