If you've been wondering why I haven't been so active on the forum as late, it's because of a lot of other things that are going on right now. This includes having published a new book that is designed to give practical advice on how we can use the Word of God to live in a right relationship with God and with those around us. It is a collection of real letters that I had written to my older sons years ago.

Clinging To What’s Right
My Dear Sons,
It’s hard to remember to look to God when things aren’t going so well, isn’t it? That’s especially true when you know just how you want things to be... and they just don’t seem to be working out that way. That’s how we practice humility: letting things go, even when you’re absolutely sure that your way is best. ... See More
"Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up." (James 4:10)
It seems that the harder things get for the psalmist of Psalm 119, the more intently he focuses upon God’s Law: to keep his path straight and not turn to wickedness.
"My soul clings to the dust; revive me according to Your word. I have declared my ways, and You answered me; teach me Your statutes. Make me understand the way of Your precepts; So shall I meditate on Your wonderful works. My soul melts from heaviness; strengthen me according to Your word. Remove from me the way of lying, and grant me Your Law graciously.
I have chosen the way of truth; Your judgments I have laid before me. I cling to Your testimonies; O Lord, do not put me to ! I will run the course of Your commandments,
for You shall enlarge me heart." (Psalm 119:25-32)
It’s important for us to learn that same lesson. When things are going well for us we praise God easily; yet, God uses those hard times to often teach us special things about His love for us, His protection, His holiness. When things are difficult, that is when we should hold more tightly to God’s Law, not wander away.
