The Aaronic Benediction, or priest's blessing, is found in Numbers 25:23-27. It comes upon the heels of the Nazarite Vow, where anyone can pledge their devotion to Adonai.
The Priestly Blessing may be thought of as simply a hug from God; but it also may carry much deeper significance, particularly to us as believers in Messiah Yeshua. It may be understood as referred to Messiah in Matthew 28:19-20 when He declared, "All authority in heaven and earth has been given unto Me."
The Priestly blessing is typically repeated at the end of the Sabbath worship service, often with all of the children gathered around the Bema or under the hupah. The recitation of this prayer is a reminder that we don't leave God at the Synagogue, nor does He only meet with us here; but His blessing carries us through the week.
