Let's discuss this week's Haftarah reading found in Jeremiah 7:21-8:3; 9:22-23.

In Jeremiah chapter 7 we see that the temple, and the priesthood had been perverted and the people had lost their fear for YHVH. May this not happen to us!!

Here are YHVH's words to His people....

"Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit.
Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not; And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations?
Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith YHVH." Jeremiah 7:8-11

This touches on a false gospel that I have heard. It goes something like this..."We don't have to live according to G-d's commandments any longer because Jesus has delivered us". In short, they say they have been delivered so they may do what they previously where condemned for in YHVH's Law.

We have not been delivered so that we may sin. May it never be! We have been delivered, and given grace (power) that we may not sin...

" Do we then make void the law through faith? G'd forbid: yea, we establish the law." Romans 3:31

Yeshua did not come so that we may live in sin...No, He came to destroy the works of The Devil (which is sin in our lives)...

"He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of G'd was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil." 1John3:8
