We see in the book of Romans that Sha'ul (Paul) quotes the end of the passage found in this week's Hafatarah reading... "As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved. And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living G'd." Romans 9:25-26
In the light of Hosea 2:1-22 what do you think Paul is communicating here?
Shalom,
Reuel

Is this not referring to the fact that the whole world would be blessed out of zion , Yeshua came and new testament was almost totally written by jewish believers in Yeshua ?

Yes, and also to those whom have fallen away in Yisrael...Truly Yah is merciful and willing to reconcile. Whom will listen to His reasoning? Whom will come and have his crimson transgressions washed as white as snow? Whom has believed our report?
Shalom b'Yeshua HaMashiach (Peace in Yeshua The Messiah),

Close, but this is actually a direct reference to the northern Kingdom of Yisrael who had fallen away from , and turned to other gods. (Yeshayahu 48:18) After divorcing himself from them, the only provision HaShem made for their reconciliation was through Y'hudah. (Yochanan 4:22)

I agree, but it does seem that Rav Sha'ul at the very least is drawing a connection out of this passage involving the Gentiles.... "whom He also called, not only us, of Jews, but also out of nations. As also He says in Hosea, I will call those Not My people, My people! And those not beloved, Beloved! "And it shall be, in the place where it was said to them, You are not My people, there they will be called, "Sons of the Living G'd."- Romans 9:24-26 Of course this happens through Yehuda (Judah)....Yeshua Shalom b'Yeshua, Reuel

Well, I have to agree with you here. Although the Scripture he quotes referred to Yisrael, he must have felt that it applied to the goyim as well. Since I am not certain why he did this, I will go back and look through Romans to see if I can come up with an explanation for this usage. In the meantime, feel free to add any insight you may have about this.
