Great response! I am not sure how I stand on Eternal Security. I had a dream once, that there were those who had made a profession of faith (maybe were saved) but they did not serve Yeshua with their lives, there was no conviction in them, no obedience...so they remained in a place (like purgatory-ish, it was pretty miserable but I would not call it hell) waiting for the final judgement, where Yeshua would either acknowledge them, or refuse them. The details of this dream, one could argue was a representation of my confusion over this issue.
However, for me personally I took it prophetically in a sense that I could not accept the savior then live my life selfishly, sinfully, disobediently, carelessly....with impunity.
However, behind any dreams or prophecy we should always default to the Bible, and as far as I know the Bible does not support this dream directly. However Sha'ul said "let a man examine himself" (1st Corinthians 11:28), and so we should otherwise we could "drink damnation" to ourselves, which could mean really....a lot of things, and I am sure I don't have the proper wherewithal to even submit an exegesis on that.
But suffice to say this, I personally would not rely on Hashem's grace to the extent I casually willfully take no concern for my purpose and mission to serve him.

[ Ruth was a Moabitess, and she was in the lineage of Yeshua. But that is one in how many? Even her two sisters-in-law, who had lived with the Hebrew faith turned back, and only she went on. Dan C I am pretty sure Ruth only had one sister in law. azaliah, I believe in the eternal security of the believer. I do not believe in the eternal security of the unbeliever. We are told many times to endure to the end. If one fails to endure to the end or falls away, he did not act as a believer. Jimmie Pretty sure you are right. Good catch; thanks.

I think whether you are eternal security or not, this is the crux of the issue right here! This is why we are told to "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling." (Phl 2:12c) Works are the fruit of our salvation, and without works you either weren't saved (eternal security folk) or you possibly fell away (the rest of us). Either way, you have a real problem! One you need to get right between you and God.
