Greetings Forum,
It has come to my attention that some here are teaching a Gentile must be circumcised when converting from paganism to the Messianic faith.
Where is that ordered in the New Covenant?
Shalom, Naild

Shalom, Naild Naild, I am not sure that this is what is being taught here, and there is no place that this is stated in the Brit Chadasha. The only time I have seen this subject come up on this forum is within the context of conversion to Judaism. There are some in the Messianic movement that approve of, and perform conversions for Messianic Gentiles who wish to become Jewish. As part of that process there are those that would claim it is necessary to fulfill the mitzvot as reguired in for the Jewish male to be circumcised. This is a controversial subject, and the debate is being played out by many in the Messianic movement. Shalom, Yitzchak

Don't you suppose he got the idea from this thread; New Baby in the Fellowship May have missed, born to a Jewish couple. Shalom

Well, I don't think he would have gotten it from there... He did specify "a Gentile converting from paganism."

LOL you guys are so funny sometimes!
Naild, to which post are you referring so the one's to whom you made your statement may respond?
It was funny to see how fast everyone could not point a finger! Thanks for the laugh before bed!

Messimom, I am at a loss as to whom is pointing a finger?
It seems to to me to be a case of wonder. Each of us wondering where he came up with the idea. To which, you seem to be as confused as the rest of us. And I concur, without a little humor, how dull?
Well anyway. Shalom

And so the mystery thickens......
Yes, if we knew what Naild was referring to we could respond appropriately.

Sorry for the confusion Pioneer, if you reread my post I said "who could not point a finger fastest". It was just the opposite from finger pointing. I was just quipping about the fact that rather than one just directly asking Naild where he got that idea from, everyone stood around looking around them dumbfounded, and I found it humorous. It was just the way the thoughts came across as I scrolled down through the responding posts, and I found it funny. And yes, I am just as perplexed as to where he got that understanding from the conversation. Hence the direct question. Messimom

Sorry to leave all you guys hanging like that, but I've been rather busy lately. Didn't know this would cause such a curious arrousal. LOL So am I misunderstanding this post, and the subsequent posts: Conversion is allowed in Messianic congregations and should still involve circumcision as well as all the other procedures recemended by the orthodoxy. The only thing needed to be said at a mikveh is the blessings, but one can add other meditations and prayers, but one should not say them after one has undressed, only the blessing is said then. Be cretain you dunk fully in the mikveh. The mikveh can be visited even daily, best times to go to a mikveh is after a group of fasts, before a holiday, before Shabbat, before a wedding, during niddah, and after doing really big tshuvah (repentance). The only one that is really required is before Yom Kippur, Pesach, beginning a faith in moshiach, and during niddah. Shalom Naild

Shalom Naild, Yeah 614th Mitzvah wrote that in context of someone who wishes to convert to Judaism and accept all the responsibilities of being a Jew.
