I just wanted to know what everyone on the Forum thinks of Christian Concerts? IS it ok to go or not? michael w smith is coming in concert in a few month, I am thinking of taking my kids to go hear him. I love his Music BUT.. I might not also because I am unsure about christian concerts,. They do charge a lot of money and Its VERY much worldy.. (I Think) Casting Crowns were here a month ago and they also have really great music and We didn't go.. because I am still unsure.. Hillsong may come here also,, and they sing so wonderful also.. Theres a great song they sing its called Adonai.. So pretty everytime I hear it I cry.. I have been wondering about this for a very long time, I have christian friends that say its ok whats the harm.. I am now unsure when people tell me they are christians and don't keep the Sabbath and are not Kosher... Ok anyways! So I am going to ask you guys what you think? Please PS> I think what I could be worried about is maybe its pagan? and that scares me a lot! But maybe its not pagan.. and could be a blessing? Peace&Love Bri'gette PS I put this Topic in the wrong spot.. sorry MARK

I would just want to make sure that you understand the distinction between worship and entertainment- and that the Christian music industry is an entertainment industry. At the same time... I like entertainment. I own a television. I listen to the radio. I visit the public library. If I were to suggest that you shouldn't go see Michael W. Smith; but it's okay to watch NCIS, I'm afraid the hipcrisy would be beyond even my personal threshhold of tolerance.
I took my son to a Newsboys concert last year (very happy we remembered earplugs). It was a fun event though I personally have no desire to ever do it again. $25 for a T-shirt. It's an amazing world in which we live!

Its something to really pray about.. I don't have a TV ! My kids want one.. but I said NO because they have a lot of games to play rather then TV.. I don't have internet at home any more either., I get online at work thats it.. I don't mind the internet I really like it... so do my kids.. We will get it back some day I listen to the radio also, but only christian music and talk radio like when radio was.. There stories before TV its way better then TV.. If we do go it will be to hear the music made for our Lord... thats it. So is it a good thing for them to sale things that has Gods name on it? maybe concerts should be free? I am a little wired when it comes to free stuff because I believe we should not have to pay for rent or electricity.. I even think people should get free medical care.. Theres enough for everyone on this planet.. If we all work together it will happen, but the uSA loves war!! and thats that!... Please don't hate me for saying this but we have over 10,000 Military men or women AWAL (Absent Without Authorized Leave) if the Gov* was so great and there being all they can be then why are they awal!! ... something to think about... OK so0000!!! off track.. sorry... Peace&love... bri'gette..

Hi bri'gette, Did you change your online screen name? By the way, the word "weird" is spelled like that, not "wired" which is how you have the habit of spelling it. Thought you'd like to know.

The danger with Christian concerts including those in the church, is that there is a tendency to focus on all the entertainment and equate that with being holy. That is why you have a great number to attend these concerts and yet live in sin. They have this attitude that if they attend the Christian concerts and church, sing and clap, that means they are wonderfully spiritual. Christian entertainment is big business. Telling people to repent, is not. That is why you don't see too many megapastors naming specific sins and saying to repent, like Yeshua and other prophets like John the Baptist and Jeremiah. How could they, they can't even decide what is a sin and what isn't.
