For those who are interested in discovering the original location of Eden, I’ve just launched a web site defending Eden’s Israeli location. The site is a work in progress, but there is already lots of information here to review. The site deals with the Science, History, and Biblical foundations for this perspective, and can be viewed at: www.faith-friends.com/Eden * Science – Geology model, Mitochondrial Eve and the genetic arguments for the humanities first parents * History – Rabbinic Tradition, Archetypes in Religion and Mythology * Bible – Bible describes Eden and Israel to be defined by the same boundaries, Eden and the Temple, etc The latest article is in our historical evidence section, and is about the Sumerian location of a place they called Dilmun – their version of Eden. You can review this article here: www.faith-friends.com/Eden/modules.php?op=modload&name=PagEd&file=index&page_id=21The question is, "If Eden was in Israel, how does this effect the way we understand the rest of the scriptures?"

Eprom,
Welcome to Ahavat Elohim Messianic Discussion Forums! What you have described is interesting and I have not done much study in this area. I will check out your links.
Shalom in Yeshua The Messiah,

One theory, which I am pretty skeptical of myself, is that Adam was buried in what is today Jerusalem, so that the Crucifixion and Burial of Jesus was in a place related to the physical remains of the forefather Adam.

Interesting. Leave it to you ...
I once heard a fairly compelling argument that Eeden is now the Dead Sea. Wish I could remember how it went. Regardless, I'll look into this. I don't know if you'll ever get a definitive, bullet proof answer. But it is an interesting question, nonetheless.

For a focus, a mindset to start your search, I'd suggest a short article from a source I trust, the Institute for Creation Research. Here's the link:
www.icr.org/article/where-was-garden-eden-located
Like I said, short, but packed with biblical based common sense knowledge from a science based source.

Man, did you ever open a can ... There is more written on Eden, ranging from the intriguing to the wild and crazy (mostly the latter). Some examples:In the east of Eden. Biblically correct, but where the hey was Eden!?Archaeologist David Rohl places it "in a vast plain referred to in ancient Sumerian texts as Edin east of the Sahand Mountain, near Tabriz." Also Edin and Eden sound similar. Great. The short version of my name sounds similar to a popular swear word. Does that mean ... !?Many place it near the sources of the Tigris and the Euphrates, somewhere in eastern Anatolia, the Armenian Highland in eastern Turkey. Great! But the link I provided in the last post pretty well debunks this and Rohi's theories.General Charles Gordon places it on Praslin Island in the Seychelles based on his identifying the rare coco-de-mer tree, only found on one other island of the Seychelles as the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Right. And did he test this theory by eating of the fruit of this tree? If so, he should know it is wrong to lie about these things. Or get high and hallucinate: whatever it is this tree does to you, it ain't good! The LDS say it was in Jackson Co. MO! If that were the case, someone would have opened a theme park there that would rival Graceland! So I doubt it.Then we have the foil hat brigade- ufologists (semi-educated ding-bats always on the lookout for aliens). Next best thing is finding someone abducted by aliens. Next best thing is a photo of a UFO that doesn't look TOO MUCH like a glow in the dark Frisbee. But I digress; they say Mars, because the description in Gen is of a canal system. Rivers, they say don't act like that in Genesis. Canals do, and Mars has canals. Hmmm, were they there when HaShem laid the foundations of the earth? Have they ever been to Mars? Have they ever been outside without their hats and got theirselves alien-zapped!?I did find a good piece about Jerusalem as Eden by Lawrence E. Stager of the Biblical Archaeology Society:www.baslibrary.org/biblical-archaeology-review/26/3/2nd another on the Dead Sea being the prophetic site:www.breakingisraelnews.com/76029/prophetic-rebirth-dead-sea-reveal-garden-eden/Not surprisingly, none of them are conclusive. The 2 linked to are just the best options. Biblically:Genesis 2:10-14 (ESV) 10 A river flowed out of Eden to water the garden, and there it divided and became four rivers. 11 The name of the first is the Pishon. It is the one that flowed around the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold. 12 And the gold of that land is good; bdellium and onyx stone are there. 13 The name of the second river is the Gihon. It is the one that flowed around the whole land of Cush. 14 And the name of the third river is the Tigris, which flows east of Assyria. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.
Ezekiel 28:12-14 (ESV) 12 “Son of man, raise a lamentation over the king of Tyre, and say to him, Thus says the Lord God: “You were the signet of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. 13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire [Or lapis lazuli], emerald, and carbuncle; and crafted in gold were your settings and your engravings. On the day that you were created they were prepared. 14 You were an anointed guardian cherub. I placed you; you were on the holy mountain of God; in the midst of the stones of fire you walked.
Also, and I checked this with several sources, common use is to say "The Garden OF Eden, whereas biblically it is:Genesis 2:8 (ESV) And the Lord God planted a garden IN Eden, in the east, and there he put the man whom he had formed. וַיִּטַּ֞ע יְהוָ֧ה אֱלֹהִ֛ים גַּן־בְעֵ֖דֶן מִקֶּ֑דֶם וַיָּ֣שֶׂם שָׁ֔ם אֶת־הָֽאָדָ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר יָצָֽרThe Hebrew is from the Lenengrad Codex. However my Interlinear has a dagesh in the ב, making it a hard B. So it says גַּן־בְעֵ֖דֶן gan be’eden, garden IN Eden. This could be an important distinction as you get closer to locating it.
Let us know what you find, or if you get a better link to your site.
