Jhn 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
A good portion of "christianity" teaches that this is license for new revelation, as well as decisions one makes.
I have found this to be very dangerous and have seen many bad decisions made based on the "leading of the Holy Spirit".
I know that I myself can rationalize anything I want to do, if I want it bad enough, by following this formula, since our fleshly desires most always seem right and all we need is a little confirmation.
The only time I can confirm a "leading" is when it aligns with scripture.
I know someone who felt called to ministry. I told him I thought it was not for him, but it was his decision. He said he prayed about and the "Holy Spirit" confirmed it and opened doors. Now this is not a bad "scriptural" thing. Howver, it turned out to be wrong and not the leading of the "spirit".
Q. even praying and being "led" turns out to be personal "leading".
Any thoughts on this "leading" of the Spirit.

You hit the nail on the head; "Beloved ones, do not believe every spirit, but prove the spirits, whether they are of Elohim, because many false prophets have gone out into the world."[1st Yochanan 4:1]
Scripture is the standard by which we gauge everything in this world.
